cut down your seatpost, slam your seat tube, get a new lighter set of pedals or go breakless

Not much really. The seat post/seat option will help, but to reduce weight noticeably you need to by custom parts that weigh less.

Other than that its cut of excess tubing on the post bars, get rid of pegs, buit light weight tyres, etc.

The most weight on a bike is in the frame, forks, wheels and cranks. However to make you bike feel lighter I'd start with bars and forks and lighten the fornt end it helps a lot.

Well in that case you could like everyone else said cut bars seat post and grind the axels flush.

Edit: Yay 1000 posts!

the quickest way to drop weight(other than new 150 cranks new 150+ wheel/wheelset or new 200+ frame) is definatly getting new:

bars
forks
tires(strangly enough you can save an ez pound just w/ new tires)
seat(dont really need a post but the seats they got are heavy as hell)
pedals

if you replace the seat pedals bars forks and tires you will have a whole new bike that is gonna weigh nothing compared to what you have now and its also gonna look sick cuz u can pick out a cool color combo :D

so pick up a
slim seat(shadows are good)
ur wtp bars
ur oddy forks
some pedals like animals or oddy jim c's
a new tire setup(dont need it but if u got the cash)----street back dirt front trust me youll like it even if u dont run dirt(i run oddy path(2.1) and oddy dirtpath(2.2) and i barely ride dirt but i love the tires)

I've been looking into some lighter parts upgrades for my ride also and after a bit of searching around on the internet have come up with these parts so far taking into consideration quality, weight and of course price:

MacNeil Silencer 5 Bar - 644g (22.72oz) - £40

Felt Skin Flute Pegs (2007) - 195g (6.87oz) pair - £18 pair

Odyssey Intac 25mm Seat Post - 240g (8.49oz) - £17

Snafu Knob Job 1.95" Tyres - 516g (18.2oz) each - £26 pair

Those prices are off the Winstanleys website. I haven't looked at pedals yet and I like my current fork. :)

Any lighter & similar priced parts I should consider?

yeah, lets all go ride brakeless dirt! WOOOOHHH!
im thinkin he'll keep his brakes.
since youve got an x3 you have haro catapult tiress right? if so, those are plenty light(dirt tires). to save weight in your case i would get a new set of bars, not only will you save a good half pound or so of weight. your bike will feel 10 times better. as bars are one of the only peices that you directly feel when you ride.
