That last shot says

.

Our sun

with VY Canis Majoris down the bottom, referring to the star you can actually see (or should I say, can't avoid).

There's a few versions of this floating around. The squirrel one and the one with Star Wars planet(oid)s made me laugh.

I've seen this before and i was very impressed, it's the sort of thing you can't try and comprehend too much or just sit there furiously contemplating something that you never get any sort of answer or explanation for.

Isn't it weird how we know more than space than we do about our oceans?

If a human could walk on the surface of Canis Majoris – assuming a speed of 5 km/h (3 mph) for 8 hours a day – the person would have to walk for 650,000 years to circle the star (compared with 2 years 11 months to complete the same task on the Earth, and 310 years 7 months on the Sun).

Jesus christ just thinking about the length of time to walk around the sun is baffling, like trying to honestly imagine that feeling of walking a distance so long that it seems to take forever.

You couldn't even do it in a lifetime, image that, walking all day every day of your life and you would only just make it a quarter of the way round.
