Hello,
I am a complete noob when it comes to anything related to bmx/freestyle bikes. I am looking for a complete bike that is $200 maybe a little bit more if the quallity is good. I am 6' tall and weigh 140. I would use this bike for more then just freestyle, i would also use it for transporation.
So could you guys recommend a bike that would fit my needs????
thanks

stop saying noob, it sounds stupid.

and i agree with the guy above me, you have to pay more for a better quality complete, as for suggestions i have no idea, maybe a kink.

you are talking about US$200, right? $400 will get you a decent bike, but not $200.

the only new bikes you are going to find at that price are going to be total garbage. you might find a good used bike for that price. also, cheaper bikes are usually short. at your hieght, you will want something with a 20.75"=21" top tube length. look for a quality name brand bike. basically, anything sold at a bicycle shop will be halfway decent. i have tried and tried and found through many years that bike sold at sporting good stores, department stores and toy stores are all junk. they are toy bikes made for young kids. whatever you do, get something from an actual bike shop. (actually, the Sports Authority had some pretty decent bikes last time i was there.)

where do you live? i will look around the local craigslist page for a good bike for you.

the fuse 2 for $200 would be a good starter bike. offer him $125 and pay $175 MAX. it's not very strong but it would get you rolling. don't expect it to last forever and start saving money for upgrades.

the Integral Slauson would be a good start. strong frame and fork, good components, $399 at danscomp.com. it might be a bit short for you, but you can adjust yourself to it.

http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/bik/851658723.html - huge bike, good investment if you think you are going to get much taller

http://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/bik/853535891.html -ok, definately not worth what he is asking for it.

http://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/bik/853652809.html - definately good for you! long, strong frame, good parts. best bet, especially for the price. however, those bars are TINY, so replace those asap.

http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/bik/853638371.html very nice custom. these bars are small too, but rideable.

http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/bik/855557959.html - sunday custom! if you can afford it and talk him down, this is an awesome bike!

http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/bik/856895134.html - price is waaaay too high, and it might be too short for you, but it would be a decent starter

http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/bik/858584976.html - hella sick indeed. this bike IS worth more than your budget.

http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/bik/859387956.html - that should work for you. angle the bars and the brake lever to a reasonable angle and you would have a decent, cheap bike.
