light stuff

ride 2 pegs
buy light stuff on your bike
remove as much as you can , front brake , gyro , cut bars , cut seat post ,

then your bike should be light otherwise buy a new frame wich is light such as kink free bird , jim s frame will do fine and are strong frames
then you can do a 1 meter bunnyhop or higher

well, first off, the way to get the most weight off is just to buy light weight parts. however thats not always possible for obvious reasons. so i guess you will want to mod your bike, here is a list of stuff you can do:

drill you rims out
drill you hubs out
cut your axles down
take some/all of your pegs off
take a brake/lever /brakes/levers off
take your gyro off
drill your stem out
cut your bars down
cut your seat post down
drill out your seat

drill holes in your rims
cut piece of axle (i got that)
cut piece of peg, take whole peg of (i got that)
cut brakelever end (2 to 1 finger lever) (i got that)
cut grips (i got that)
cut bars (i got that)
cut seatpost (i got that)
cut dropouts (i got that)
cut fork (i got that)
bullshit lighten barends (i got that)
drill holes in seatpost (i need tools to do this)
/lever
/bars
/frametubes
/stem
/sprocket
/fork

buy all light stuff... but with mods you won't get much of your weight off... it's just really nice to have customized shit and a feeling that you ride light and strong (holes in alex triple wall for example)

For those into Xtreme bike weight loss:

-Remove all stickers
-Remove paint from parts/frame and clear coat afterwards (this will save weight. Notice how heavy a spraypaint can is when you first get it and how light it is after theres no paint left)
-Take some of your parts to a machine shop and shave off some metal from your parts where it is not needed.
-Keep your rims perfectly true (Less rotating weight)
-File down unimportant parts (ex: clamping area of brake lever)
-Round all sharp edges with file
-File inside middle of pegs
-Use the smallest size nut available for your axle
-Cut nose off of seat and tape it up
-Keep your bike clean (all the dirt adds up)
-Ride seatless
-Weld seat to frame
-Use low gearing

I would suggest not doing some of these since im pretty messed up on some painkiller for my broken wrist.

some of the things he said were right, shaving off corners and stuff, but really wieght isnt a big deal, just get a light frame and light parts and u should be fine, as long as its not exceptionaly heavy

get the new macneil seat/post combo.

it weighs 1.16lbs, which is about as much as most seats or posts by themself.

i'll be buying one soon.

the big things in weight, wheels, crank, fork, and frame. since you ride street stick with 48h wheels, going to 36h will reduce weight by like 3oz and reduces the strength alot more. crank go with like 48oz or less. fork this is one big issue this can make a huge difference you will first have to find how much yours weigh then check out new ones. lastly frames almost all frames now are being made lightweight so just take your pick if you want to buy a new one.

but i do have to say dont worry about the weight ride what you got till you break the parts.

whatever you do...don't drill out the rims like in that picture above.
it lessens the strength of the rim...obviously you can't really tell right away but the stress will build up eventually and it will crank or snap.
unless of course you are real smooth.

hehe...

try DK Chop Stix (about 42oz.) or...
Odyssey 41 THERMAL (about 43oz. and better)

Odyssey 41 Thermal Dirt Fork

Odyssey Civillian bars or Solid Hell Light bars

Primo Hula Hoops or Odyssey Hazard Lite rims
