This has really upset me, he was my best friend's (from school) brother. He was a top notch guy, had had a lot of shit in his life and had overcome it all, and then he dies because some fucker was driving dangerously. It isn't fair.

Jak you will probably know him.

My thoughts are with his family, they're all really lovely people :(

I know what it's like to be "hit by a truck", figuratively. Not the same I know, but I now know life can "turn on a dime".
So it has again...for another person.

Sorry to hear Josh, it's pretty surreal I know. Seems like the older you get, the more people die.
Not being negative, just an observation.

Where do we all go? No one has ever come back to tell us.
Is it just non-existence, or is there something more? Discuss?

I agree. It hurts even when you don't know the person, to know that they had really battled to improve their life and something like this happens. And as far as what happens after this "life", who knows. But I believe we go SOMEWHERE. Humans are energy, and energy never ceases. It keeps going. So weather it be in a religious state or otherwise, we keep going, in one way shape or form. And I've seen many "small miracles" and strangely guided coincidences in my life that make me believe there is more to life than what you see before your eyes.
Not trying to be preachy or strange evangelist guy, I've just been through a lot myself this past year and some things just seem to make more sense from that perspective.

But I hope this unfortunate soul rests in peace, and I hope the prayers will bring comfort to his family and friends.

the day was amazing, we skated/skateboarded/rode for like 1 or 1+half miles on our skates/skateboards/bikes behind the horse + cart with the coffin in, and the family in the limo. with police escorts and loads of police cutting off the roads and stuff so there was no disruption. It was a very surreal thing to be a part of. Everyone stopped and stared as we passed them. We got to the church and plenty of people were crying, it seems to be that way when a young person has died. I got photos of us all behind the limo and stuff because I think it was something that Gary would have really wanted to be a part of, but also he would of been like... "what? this is all for me? you dickheads..." like, he was an attention seeker and he would just laugh that he was the reason for it all! you know?
So we went to the church, had a lovely mass said for him,had some poems read out by his sister which were written by his sister and by his girlfriend, but she didnt read hers out. It was just beautiful. We then rode/skated to the crematorium (further than where the house is (where we started off) but also close by)... Had the service there and a lot of people were really cut up by it all. When the curtain closed so many people wailed and cried, it was a really low point of the day.
We then left for the house where there was food/drink for about 30 minutes, then all the skaters and bmxers etc heaed down to the skatepark for a session Gary would have ****ing loved. Everyone was going all out with the attitude of like... who the **** cares? I'm going to go big because Gary would have wanted it... He seriously would have enjoyed it all. We stayed there a few hours and went back to the house where we continued to eat and drink with the family, and they ended up getting Gary's grind box out where the skaters had a session and then I had one (mildly intoxicated) which was good fun.

Rest in peace Gary, you were a very strong person, and I'm sure I will see you on the other side.

Keep on rolling mate xx
