Theres a bolt in the back of the crank arm connected to the sprocket. If you havn't seen that.. you didn't mention it so.

Yeh ok so you took the crank off, but on the drive side crank arm behind it theres a bolt where it connects the crank arm to the sprocket..??

I was doing this exact thing just a couple days ago and I have a DK Step Up too. You only take off the crank on the opposite side of the sprocket. You undo that bolt on the end with a 9/16 and then just tap it straight off. Mine was extremely hard to get off though.

...im pretty sure a dk step up has a unsealed set up..
u want to take the whole crank out
not just the arms. u want to loosen the lock nut, loosen the bbs (in the process u wanna grease them), take the spindle out, and take it out that way.

The crank arm next to the sprocket stays on. Just take out that bolt to the other one, hit the crank arm straight off.

Look, I just did it like 4 days ago. Hit the crank arm that is on the opposite side of the sprocket (make sure that bolt is out) then once it is off unscrew those two bolts that were behind it and the whole thing will come off.

In your picture there are two nuts on the right side, take the first one all the way off and then the second you can stick a flathead screwdriver in the little slot (there are two slots) and tap it until it is loose and then spin it all the way off.
