A freecoaster is a hub, which doesn’t catch when you ride fakie. It remains
still until you pedal forward. It is just like a bike with pedal brakes but with out the brakes and you can pedal backwards without the hub catching.

yea most flatland riders use freecoasters so that their pedals stay in place when rolling backwards...on a lot of freecoasters though you can set the catch so that it will be just like a regular freewheel.

yea, only flatlanders should use freecoasters if u use them on dirt or street, they won't last long, and about freewheels, in my opinion acs claws are the best for dirt and street, i use one myself :p
