Just wondering if anyone has done it on a 20" bike. I did it on 20" wheels but they were not for a bike. They were Hayes hydro with a 6" rotor and I also did it with 8" rotors. Mechanical would be ideal, since they would work w/ a Gyro.

that sucks, those people must be retarded. I did repeated 70mph stops, and yeah they had fade, but I was in a 400 lb vehicle.

I think If I do it I'll use downhill MB hubs and lace them to 20" wheels.

hydraulic rim brake?? crazy.

I prefer the mechanical disc for bikes. The Hayes master cylinder sucks, on the car I put them on I replaced it with a gokart master cylinder, but that won't work on a bike.

Just for future referance, you can't compare a vehicle's disc brakes to a bike. No way, no how.

wtf?

mechanical discs don't work compared to a hydraulic one.

hayes actually make some of the best disc brakes on the market for bikes.

hope are the other top contender, which is what i run on mine.

if you ever want to feel a good disc brake, try a hope.

I'll give some a try if I find someone locally who runs them. The hayes MC is just so crappy. Very hard to bleed them. Took 4 hours, the replacements we used took 5 minutes.. The mechanical ones are simpler and can be used with a gyro.
