yeah, stop using chain tensioners, they're useless.

^They are far from useless.

If you have trouble breaking them because of grinds, try a tensioner than can run 'backwards' (pushing from the front of the dropout instead of pulling from the back) like the Ody P.A.C.T. You don't necessarily need one that's designed for ppushing either, Matrix runs normal pulling ones in a pushing configuration, by just cutting the sticky outy bit to size.

You can even use anti spin bolt pegs to do the trick (if the gap isn't too big or small), that's what I did on my Condor in the 90's. I filed small sections off the head of the anti spin bolt 'til it fit right.
