Bike parts queries post #1
hey agen, just a few questions bout various parts on bikes.....

Im looking at getting some 2 piece cranks, whats better, euro bb or standard US bb? why?

What do "stainless steel pedal inserts" do?

How would i go about removing/replacing my gyro parts?

is it possible to paint the middle part(rotating part) of a gyro? or do i have to buy a coloured one? i have seen a coloured one on a bike in the post bike pics here topic in general......

thats all for now......thanks

2pc? i would search for some odyssey one piece. these are great. a UGP rider (sponsered by ugp and a couple shops) from holland didn't bend these but rode a half year with these. euro bb is lighter but just as strong is what i heard. stainless is just nice cause it doesn't rust. gyro? ofcourse you can paint. look out for the bearings.

euro is easier to install, but your frame has to have a euro bottom bracket, but is weaker then american. no what anybody says it is weaker just take a good look at how small the bearings are. stick with american bottom bracket

stainless pedal inserts whioch are found in aluminum cranks(hopefully) keep from stripping threads in aluminum, tightening steel or chromoly into aluminum can turn out in a horrible way! downside is if the insert isnt held in by like notches or a pin it can slide right out. primo powerbites are known for doing that
