Yes it was a real commercial it aired a couple times locally for me.

It was quite a few months back though.

I beg to differ with everyone in here.

First off, I don't own a Civic so don't think I'm just trying to defend what I drive.

I have a glorified, more square, less desirable, hyped up civic. That being said..

EG(92-95)EK(96-99) civic's are amazing handling cars. B18C1/C5's are amazingly powerful engines. The swap is easy and straight forward, and even stock on type R's and Si-R's..

That being said. The reason they are put to shame with horrible bodykits and ugly, tasteless mods, is because they're so god damned GOOD that after market companies realize how much potential the little Civic has and pump out part after part to soak up the community of compact tuners' money... Once people noticed how good Civic's were and noticed how much better people were making them with simple parts, the wannabe's started flossing their weak shit and companies like APC/Ractive noticed how much shit they can sell idiots like these wannabe's - it all blew up..

Go drive a B series swapped Civic on some decent suspension and come back and talk shit.. A quick and straight forward swap in a Civic compared to a complicated, expensive, difficult swap in a Corolla ? Hmm..

Compared to the riced out pieces of shit in that vid, there were some real nice Civic's in that commercial.. Not everyone who owns a Civic is a joke.. and not everyone with a Civic wants it to look like a damn spaceship..

It's funny too, when people think even a stock Civic, driving normally, is a ricer.. just cus it's a Civic..

And if I was Honda - I would be proud of Civic Nation.. Even if half the people with Civic's look like morons, they still bought Civic's.. Everything tight you see on the road - every fast 4 cyl, every modified 'econo' car.. Give thanks to the Civic/CRX as it started it all.. Why do you think Toyota brought out Scion, and TRD parts galore for 'em? Why can you customize EVERYTHING on a Scion at the dealership? Cus people know you can now, they know things can change - easily - they can make a car "their own"..

Once more.. how many Cavaliers, Sunfires, Focus', Neon's do you see rolling around with 300-400,000 km's? Exactly. Compared to Civic's, Corolla's, 240sx's etc.. Even domestic manufacturers are trying to get in on the game of fast 4 bangers.. SRT-4, Cobalt SS, SVT Focus..

I dunno, I agree that the cars in that commercial were ridiculous, but try to make a commercial full of Spoon lipped, Mugen over-bumpered, rollin' on Volk w/ JDM light clad Civic's and people wouldn't get it.. 5% of the population would be like "Holy ****! That Civic has Ray's !" - the other 95% would be like "oh, cool - stock Civic.." (which is the point).

If I was Honda I'd also be saying your welcome.. Your welcome for vtec, for showing V8 owners that 4 cyl's can roll, your welcome for giving a generation a platform, and other manufacturers to jack cues from, to build ANYTHING they want from..
