[Review] Primo Wall

Thread Starter
Another review. Since I eat through tires. Heh.

Well, A long time ago, I bought 2 primo walls from a bike shop in long island. Not my lbs. I bought it in grey because those were the days when I was looks > performance. I only ran like 20 PSI in them because I had a hand pump and I always thought the pressure gauge was broken. I thought the tire would explode with any more air.

Now a days... That bike is gone. I donated it to a good kid who needed a bike.

A while ago, I posted up a wanted ad for a tire. I got a used Primo Wall, just because that was the only thing available. It was 10 bucks. Not bad considering I went out and spent 40 bucks for 2 of them at a bike shop.

Being my 3rd primo wall... Time for a review.

I paired the tire up with an ASM 1.95.

"Primo 'The Wall' Tire, 1.85, 85PSI"

Pro's: The tire is nice and grippy. Since it is being run as a front tire, I can't really say much about it. The one I just bought had a tear, And i'm pretty sure that is just because of abuse. The last 2 I had, I ran them very lightly and had no problems. Even with that tear, and the white fibers showing through, I can pump the tire up to the max 85 PSI with no bulges or anything. Thick as hell! I put a really thin Kenda Kontact tire inside as a liner, and I can run this tire flat! (Thanks to the runflat mod)

Con's: None really. A little squeaky due to the soft compound of the rubber, when i'm pushing the bike through the house. That's about it. And the weight. But it doesn't really bother me.

Overall, great tire, i've seen better, such as the animal glh, definitely not one of primo's best tires, but it's still a great one.

8 out of 10!

I have to admit, this tire is puncture proof. Honestly one day i came home and saw some little gashes in it and it had about 7 peices of tiny glass in it and it didnt even come close to going throw. Its an ok tire though. Not all that grippy for me in the front. But it is one hard son of a b*tch to puncture.

That mod has been around for decades.

why would you put another tire in it and run it flat?
i have a primo wall on the back of my bike it cost $15 new
i very rarely get a flat
and they can take 100psi without a problem
i've had it for almost a year now and i think its time to replace it because
all the glass ive run over has cut alot of gashes in the tire and flats are becoming more frequnt
Admin needs to make me a mod so i can ban all the retards

The primo wall is a pain to get off a primo hula hoop. I didnt have a tire lever and screwdrivers didnt work so i sawed it off with a saw. That wasnt the best idea but it came off. Very VERY strong tire.

A friend explode one red primo wall tire and make a huge hole, but he bent a Midway rim and bent the frame a little bit to the right. I have one regular wall 2.10 black, i have used other wall tires before and is one of the best tires in the market. The tire has no weak points

those tires are a bitch to put on lol

^^^ yeah theyre kinda stiff, but I do it without tools, and I must say they are one of the hardest Ive had to get off,but to get on I did it with little more trouble then other softer treads

VERRRY thick,kinda heavy,don't mind though

I have so many small tiny holes from glass, apparently I just found out..No punctures.

I run 65 psi in them, had them for about 2 months, absolutely love them. I cant say Id get them again without looking at other treads

but definitely would get them again if I cant find something better.
Just go ride!

The last two tyres i have run have been a primo wall and an animal asm both in 2.1 on the back, they're both great but i love the primo wall its rolls great, lasts ages, and is bombproof, but with anything bombproof it is rather heavy for a tyre
