[Review] Animal ASM Tire

Well... I couldn't find a review on the ASM's by using the search button... So I guess I will write one.

I got the Animal ASM in 1.95 for my back tyre after being fed up with my tyres busting all the time. I bought a used one, because it was cheap.

Pros: I like the way it's a slick tyre, rides very smooth when i'm just crusing to the park or whatever. It has 110PSI which I like. And it's very thick. Haven't had any problems with it yet. All my other tyres I have used give me problems like twice a week. No problems with this tyre. Very easy to install, I just literally slipped it on the rim. It also wears very slowly; I bought it from someone who used it for a couple weeks if I am correct, and you can still see the criss-cross pattern on the tread. Hasn't worn yet. The price is another pro. New shipped is like 25 bucks. Not bad.

Cons: What comes with all these great things such as the tyre being thicker and less likely to pop, is the weight. This tyre is very heavy. Also, I ride a little dirt, and since the tyre is a slick, I get bad traction when accelerating on dirt/bumps in the road. The tyre slips a lot when accelerating versus a tyre with a tread. Kind of annoys me, but whatever. It gets dirty too.

Heres a current picture of the tyre.

It wont be easy to install once you get a high walled rim, believe me.

Yeah, it's not for dirt but I don't want to switch around tires just for when I go ride dirt. Because I do pretty much all kinds of riding.

Meh. My mom says it's not safe because it has no tread. She took my bike to the shop to get the tire changed. Wow. Lol.

Dude holding it off the rim it was heavy. 23 ounces is heavy compared to other tires I know of is like 16 ounces only. Ah whatever don't want to argue about it.

greatest street tire i ever riddin..as for the wieght dnt evn worry about it..few extra ounces means they last longer..besides, the more u ride the more u wear it down...and just like pegs itll lighten up

Mission to put on a hazard in a hurry. My riding partner, has had non stop trouble....after a month it puntures more than my old kenda kontact and tbh it isnt all that bad for packed dry dirt.
