[Review] KHE Tires!!!!!

Ok well I'm still crippled and I thought Id write a review. I don't think anyone has reviewed these yet, but it is a very contraversial tire so here is my opinion.

I got myself a set of KHE park tires off dans. I used them once, and have now sold them to my mate for the same price i bought them for. I know it wasn't a month but in one day I knew these had to go.

When I first opened them out of the packet, f*** these tyres are THIN. I mean thinner then paper(but I was aware of that when buying them). But jesus they are light, both of these tires put together were less then my rear tyre alone. You can really notice the difference in weight.
The also thing I said, "where the f*** is the tread?" I mean, these tires have about 1mm deep of tread(compared to others which have like 3mm)

These tyres are super easy to install, on and off with hands in seconds, no worries. They also pumped up to 120psi.

So I took these to the park. They were the 2.1 version so I was hoping for grip. These really are so easy to ride, doing a 360 feels like there is no bike under you, and makes spinning very fast. I was very happy. But having such light tires make things feel very sketchy I think.
These tyres have little grip IMO. I ran DJ tires for park for ages, and they had more grip on the concrete then these. They also squeak shit loads which is annoying to me, but other may like it. They are shit for foot grip as well, makes it very hard for that sort of stuff.
I also found they don't corner to well (like on flat), this may be due to the shape of the roundness of the tyre.

As I rode home not very impressed with my new tyres, I got a flat from a small rock that wasn't even sharp enough to leave a scratch on my skin. If you as much case anything I'm sure these tyres would rip.

Pros:
Light
Easy to install
Look sick

Cons:
Little tread
Flats
No grip
Bad shape
Not as wide as other 2.1 tires
Very expensive

I give these 4/10, but I'm sure other will love these tyres.

I know there are lovers and haters of these tyres, leave your opinions here if you want. I personally dont think these perform aswell as the hype, or as well as tires 1/4 of the price.

i heard the dirt is lighter

I got a street for the back. I love how easy it is to put on, but i've had three flats in a week and i can already see the wear in only little over a month. But it is really light, and i like the tread

Great review, I was actually going to right one when I was done with it, but you beat me to it.

hmmm.. i donno if i want these now, maybe i'll get kevlar rubens when they come out.

Why get Kevlar rubens? They're still heavy as ****, you only save about 1oz compared to regular rubens and you have to pay twice as much.

i think you havn't ridden them realy. i got mine since 2 months, no flats, much more grip then every other tire i had before, very light, very good shape, the only thing is the price, and maybe that you have to use 6-8 bar pressure.
They are the only serious folding tires.

the dirt is 200gr lighter then the demo trailslayer (that was the lightest dirttire before)

i heard so many people having flats everyday with that tires, i'll wait for july, every company is going to release their 2008 products, so maybe i'll see better kevlar tires

Well i'm running a set on a 44+lb bike, and if they are gonna have faults, wouldn't a heavy bike find them quicker?

I have 2 sets of these tyres, one on my 2hip pork, one on my light-ass WTP nova. I have run these tyres since they were released, and have had no problems, and I am not going back to other tyres. I find they grip better than any tyre i've had before, the only time they have slipped is when fakie-ing I lower the bike to under 45 degrees when turning, if i lower it too much the back slips. But who rides with their bike less than 45 degrees to the ground all the time, if at all?

So far, they have outlasted my mates tyres (he has wiped out 2 pairs of tyres to one pair of these). I find them a bitch to put on my 2hip, but then i'm running a set of supra-E's, so its to be expected. The tread is directional, so running them backwards should make a difference to the wear and performance, but it doesn't. Not had a problem with punctures, had a few a while back, when i was running lower pressures, as happens with other tyres.

The only way you will know if these tyres are ''your cup of tea'', is to try them.

And running them once, hardly counts for a good period for review.
I do what I do, and I do it well.

Ive had the street at the front and back for some month.. ive never had a flat.. and i run at 100 PSI

And the shape is good, and the grip is very good... Try take so air in them...

It isnt. Its kevlar beaded, instead of metal beaded. There is a metal ring around most tires (which is why you can't bend them) these have kevlar, which is lighter and can bend ("folding" tires)

The main tread part is still rubber

I used to have minimum 1 flat per day on my old odyssey p lytes, it is because all the glass at my local park. So I am use to having shitloads of flats. But to have a extremely blunt rock peirce the whole side wall, it was a bit unusual.

Yeh I havnt really rode them, but it shows how different people have totally differnt opinions, which in the end the different opionions from users will make this review. I agree that these have alot of grip, but compared to all the other tires I have owned, they had the lest on concrete.

I spose I shouldn't have reviewed these with little use, but after all the cons put together I figured i may aswell sell them new while I can. And I didnt really mind putting heavy tires back on as lighter bikes doesnt make you rider any better, it just makes it easier in my opinion.

i rode these tires for about 4 months and i think they are great...they have great grip and they still have tread left and i dont run brakes...they are the best tire out imo

first off no, the 2.1 is way bigger than a 2.1 should be.

second they have really good grip for a street tire and ive even rode dirt with mine.

mine never squeek and hold up great for me.

ive had two flats in about 4 months of using them. not bad and i seriously ride where there is alot of glass and sometimes sticker bushes.

i have noticed that my front tire is wearing down because i do alot alot alot of sliders.

i love my streets so much that im thinking about buying a dirt front and a park rear when these wear out completely.

I'm on my fifth flat in a week with this tire. It's not entirely the tire's fault, i ride a bent, dinged, old shitty ass triple wall, but the tire isn't helping.
