ricer isn't a term meant towards japanese cars in general, it's more geared towards the stupid assholes that put gigantic ugly bodykits and huge wings on their cars. generally if you get a decent import enthusiast with a car, it may have a subtle bodykit on it (meaning like a lipkit or something along those lines) and engine stuff. i'm not gonna lie though, the crazy ricer cars can be gnarly sometimes. they just have to be tastefully done.

    ok for the record:

any brand/make/style/type of car can be "riced out"

here are a few examples so you guys dont get it twisted

riced out: having unnecessary body mods/lights/things that dont reallly make any improvements in functional styling or performance gains. like big wings that dont create downforce or were wind tunnel tested. like apc or something. bodykits that dont help track performance. hood pins when you still have a hood latch ect..

here are some examples of rice and what is not rice.

    AMERICAN RICE:

notice the untasteful body mods bad stickers horrible paint, wings and addittions that dont help the cars performance. = riced the f uck out

    JAPANESE RICE:

unpainted kit that also kills the body lines of the car.

now for some tasteful examples that are performance oriented:

j's racing race car. everything on this car is functional unlike the red civic. see the difference?

ok now you can correctly call people ricers when you see them not because their car was made in japan but because they have no idea what the hell they are doing when it comes to cars in general

  6. now frank knows what he's talking about. lets grace this thread with more examples of non-rice tuners.

those are just a few examples.

Do you even know where the term 'rice' comes from............ its older than most of you guys, and its got fook all to do with body kits and what not. Its a degoratory term sued to described tuned japanese cars.

It car what lots of unnecessary body kits, spoilers, 20" bling rims, etc that call "****ing ugly" not 'riced out'.

You kids will twist any old phrase to mean something its not....

But then again, you probably think you coined the phrase and any generation other than yours knows jack-shit about cars anyway, so you'll probaluy dismiss me as being a twat!

    That vette made me cry.
And sixdegrees your right in that the term "rice" most likely did originate as a derrogatory term for Japanese cars, however over the years the term has evolved to include cars from all countries that are distastefully modified.

Although the hood fitment on this hatch is borderline rice.
And the mirrors really make the car look bloated imo.
