Haro, or Kink?

depends which bike you pick from each of them. I'd say overall, Kink is a little better cuz Haro it's jsut coming out of a funk. they were great until MIrra left in '06, then they were crap for a few years. they seem to be improving fast tho. I ride a Haro Nyquist as my beater, and it's buttery smooth. I'v enever owned a kink, but the few I've ridden were incredibly light and agile.

just look for under 27 lbs.. 3 peice cranks of course... double wall rims.. sealed cassete and bottom bracket, at least a chromo mainframe unless its ur first bike. the front wheel i guess could be shitty as long as you ride the back wheel harder. mine is a single wall with loose ball bearings and its fine. and yes.. bearings matter a lot.

i'd say 30lbs is good for a first bike.

why? because the heavier the bike, the stronger you get.

learn to 360 on a 30lb bike, then you'll be doin crazy shit when your bike gets lighter [:

I just bought a 2003 or 2004 Haro Backtrail X3 "Nyquist" edition LOL like new and I paid $165 from a guy. I'm 200lbs and 5;10" and it holds up well, and shockingly light to for 2 pegs on left side and gyro and all still factory! Im just getting back into BMX from when I was a kid, but Haro used to be the shit, I guess the took a slump for a while, I got a GOOD Haro though, IMHO prolly the best used Haro out there. I say get a used Haro and reinforce/repair as needed
