Good first car for 17 year old, UK

Nah, i was trying toget a quote and apparently more than wont do a quote on a car thats 25 or older. Which is stupid cause my mates paying 600 a year for his Saxo VTR with a VTS engine, at age 18, having already been through about 4/5 other cars. Any companies who specifically insure young males who dont want an ultimate shitheap?

I think i'm gonna get a black ford Ka, Cheap as shit, reliable, 1.3l engine best car in it's category. I don't care about the looks so much.. Aslong as it'll be black or blue. Then i'm gonna buy some new rear bumper and side skirts and a double exhaust pipe. And a spoiler. Then it'll look abit more masculine

The daft thing is, i can actually drive pretty well. By my logic if i get a little shit heap its gonna be foot to the floor all the time trying to get response out of the bloody thing. Therefore making me more of a danger cause im used to getting round quicker. Which by crashing will push up my insurance even more so when i get to something thats worthwhile. vicious circle eh?

I turned 17 a month ago.. And i'm on my 4th lesson, second properly but i've had 2 2 hour lessons.. if that makes sense.. my instructor says im a good driver, hes taken me out on the main stretch of road and let me do 60mph using the turbo in sixth gear.. Within my 2nd lesson. lol.

Nah not 17 yet, just been driving since i was about 7. Got road sense (to an extent) from riding about everywhere.

If your dad'll pay for insurance, see if he could do with an ethnic son with a penchant for old 3series?
