I like the bikes that have nostalgic meaning to me. The 86 performer I had, the 89 Pro Freestyle Tour, the 95 Slammer... I learned so much on those bikes, and had so many good times. Plus, back then, we were younger and practically sold a kidney to be able to afford them. If you had an all chromoly frame and 3 piece cranks back then, you were either rich, sponsored, or very lucky. The actual BIKE meant way more back then, since we were younger, and would make 20 bucks a week mowing lawns. Getting a new bike seemed like a once in a lifetime thing to us... I'm sure some kids nowadays feel the same about their current bikes, and will probably feel the same about those bikes when they're older.

The riding to this day still means a lot to me, but the bikes aren't the same. I can always find the new, hot trendy bikes, they are all over. But to find that chrome plated GT with Peregirne 48"s? I'd give my kidney to have it...

well everytime you buy those trashed up bikes and you sit there and you wonder the history behind it. then you compare it to yours and you sit there and for awhile and realize your bike has no history.

Pure nostalgia; I was "financially challenged" when it came to certain things such as expensive bikes so it meant something to build one up from a spare frame and then ride it around doing jumps & stuff. Good times.
