Lots of guys love old bikes, so I figured I'd give you a rundown on my old bike.
I built this bike in the summer of 91. With parts I had been aquiring for many years. It was totally dialed in, but I was afraid to ride it now, as it was so valuable. So I sold it and bought new school stuff (which I actually like better, and I don't have to worry about damaging it).
Here is a pic
and here is the rundown on what was on it.
Frame, 1988 Dyno Pro Compe Team model frame (one of the rarest of flatland frames, as it has the gyro cable holes through the downtube, and this was the ONLY year where they had that). Most flatlanders sought out this frame and even in 91 when I got it, it was still extremely desirable.
Forks, 1990 GT Pro freetstyle tour chrome
Back pegs, Original pulse pegs, from first lot made. I got them from Bill when he first started making them, before he came up with the name. Front pegs, gt tube rides
Stem, "Lucky" 85 gt block stem, custom painted one day in college.
Bars, Original Peregrine q bars, with jive grip for locomotives.
Levers, Prototype tech 77's. That Dia-compe sent me to test before they were released, (I still run these levers today)
Front brake ACS boa, original ball bearing brake.
Back brake, Dia-Compe prototype 993. This was made for me, as I wanted a brake with more ability to dial it in. It never made it to market.
Cranks, redline 401 flights 175 with techmatic sealed bearings, I got these out of a tree for $30 bitd.
Pedals shimano dx in red
rear wheel, araya chrome rim, suntour coaster, with acs freecoaster conversion
front wheel Peregrine Super pro
Tires RL edge
seatpost clamp, original double gt seat post clamp.
Straight post
91 gt seat
gyro
Here is a pic of Kevin Jones riding it.
Chase and I spent hours doing multiple decades on this bike, after his brakes failed.
Good times.
