"that weird peice" is called a platform, its an early freestyle/flatland frame i'd say!
lots of early flat frames had those platforms :)

I've looked all over, and I can't find anything that looks like it. I think it may be a generic, or "department store" type. It has a combination of features from certain companies, but I can't find out exactly what it is. Is there a serial number anywhere on it?

Well i say its for show also,, I mean comon,, i have never seen someone riding around on a frame like that,, i mean sure,,,its cool looking, But its also old.. I'd say buy another junk bike,, and put the parts on there,, and hang it in your garage,, Show your friends,, Or you might try looking on ebay,, theres all kinds of oldskool frames,, u might find another one like it.. If you decide to sell it,,, let me know,, I'm kinda interested in it,, I rebuild old bikes,, Later man.

I thought Mongoose made Kuwahara :hmm:
Anyway, it's deffinetly an old flatland frame that has been stripped.

^ lol yea,, Mongoose went to chit when they started carrying them in Walmart and target K-mart ect,, I brought a brand new mongoose Hoop d,, and the crank went out on it,, Then i replaced it ,, and it still gave me problems,,, So i built my own mongoose up from parts,, Anyways,, yea it might b a mongoose,, Its hard to tell what it is,,

So Walmart bikes suck? Man they have some awesome looking mountain bikes for like $150, I was thinking about getting one just for fun.

Looks like a Hutch (not a trickstar) or a Homeless flat frame.
Keep digging. if it's a Hutch. I can be worth like $100 or $150 on Ebay.

I thought Hutch too, but I couldn't find any that had two vertical headtube gusset tube things. And I know it's not a Homeless because I was in love with Homeless frames, and I would have creamed myself if it was one. No cream.
It's similar to the Mongoose decade as others have pointed out, but still I couldn't find a year when they had the two reinforcements behind the headtube.

i remember seeing hutches that looked very similar to this one, but the rear platform wasn't quite as large if I remember correctly. And why wouldn't you ride this? I want to get a 80s GT Performer to flatland on. old school bikes are awesome. I'm in the process of rebuilding a 83 GT pro series so my wife can ride with me now!

Close, very close, but the HBS didn't have the platform by the seat tube. Plus the chain stays are different.

If it is a prototype of the HBS, he's made a great find. That's for sure!
