Ever see one of those DK Random wrenches (http://www.dkbicycles.com/parts/parts.html)? I think they are such a cool idea, and so I decided to make something similar on my own. A tool for traveling that would include all the tools I need for my bike. HOOK

I started with an old fork and the tools I wanted to include.
"Hi, Odyssey, I'd like to warranty a pair of forks".Next I chopped off the steer tube of the forks to act as the body of my tool.

Then I chopped up some tools to be welded on to my tool. After a little prep work I took all the parts to my friend Blaze who builds the Liquor Bikes (http://www.liquorbikes.com/) made here in Austin.
This is a rough idea of what it would look like.

He welded on my bits and parts with the utmost perfection.

Next I carefully spray painted it and then picked it up and ruined the paint because it was wet.

If you check the picture above you'll see that it has a deep socket 17mm for pegs, and inside it has a 8mm, 6mm, 5mm, and 4mm allen sockets which are all the allen wrench sizes on my bike, and a Peregrine spoke wrench. Also welded on the outside is the adjustable wrench which works as a pedal wrench and as a wrench for brake adjustments. Basically every tool I need while traveling all in one Vision Street Wear hip pack-sized unit.

cool idea.

waste of forks though....lol.

i saw a glimpse of this somewhere and was like wtf ?

not too sure about the integrity of it, but i'm sure it will last longer then anticipated.

i need something more compact all of the above separately inside my bag.

one thing tho.
you couldn't adjust brakes...cause you couldn't use the adjustable wrench and allen key at the same time...

you either saw this on http://www.terribleone.com/ or http://www.etniesbmx.com/

not bad but see all the extra sockets, spoke tools etc. you could prob bang something up out of plastic that would clip your sockets all together so they dont sit around all loose eg. get some poly pipe about 25mm(depending on the size of your sockets etc.) and cut the front section off so that when you push your sockets in they will clip in ...not like cut the pipe in the middle but like this (just off centre where the vertical line is) [|_]

cut it just in front of the half line so that it will clip into the pipe...its hard to explain also you could join it to the fork with like a self tapping screw or something...but i know i will be doing this ... its a good idea... i will probaly make one then post some pictures of it in the near future(the clip bit i mean):D

by the way, what did you use to cap the ends of the tube

why the hell would you waste a perfectly good 41thermal fork. it makes no sense.

100+ dollar forks or a multi tool you coul;d buy for 30 or so dollars. hhhhmn

nicely done! i like how the stuff stores inside the tube.
if you could squeeze a mini pump in there... dang bro that would be mighty fine.
