1. remove your brake pads and sand the glaze off the braking surface of them.

2. take a damp rag and wipe down your rim DO NOT wipe the moisture off. Let it dry on it's own. This will get the crap out of the micro-grooves in your rim.

3. Lube your cables.

These are 3 EASY steps to enhance your braking a fair bit.

you cna lube cables by driping some in where the housing ends and the cable itself comes out.

this works for a while, then eats your rim almost exactly like soda.i did this to my old hazard lite rim which was practically brand new,and it started rusting about 3 months later.i never rode my bike in the rain and i keep my bike inside my house so it wasnt from getting it soaked..dont suggest it,just use water,it actually works just as good as rubbing alcohol, which i also used and it only lasts a small period of time then you have to wet it again.

yea i like squaeky brakes. even though mine don't skeak :(

why not just use a rag?^ instead of a sock?

and if you search bmx tech. [azman] there is a thread about stopping squaeky brakes.

Squeaky brakes are also caused by the rear part of the pads contacting first. Make the leading end of the pads contact first.

Also be careful not to sand weird shapes into the pads.

try cleaning the rims with this stuff to get grease off the cooker. if you wanna go txic and for more effect use that stuff to clean brushes used for painting.
