View Full Version : Aching and soreness on my ass

I don't know if this has something to do with biking, but since I've been riding, I've developed pains right where there's a bit of bone above and down a little ways to the crack of my ass. It's not much problem unless I poke around down there, except sometimes when I go to stand up from sitting down, or vice versa, there's a tremendous ache that stops me dead in my tracks. Normally I sit back down, and try to get up again and I'm fine or just a little sore that time.
What could have caused this, and is there anything I can do about it?

What seat do you have? Do you sit on it much?

I'm a fool.
u might need a wider/bigger seat if your riding a slim seat OR go to your doctor

It's not a hemorrhoid.

It's whatever the factory seat on the Haro Backtrail x1 is. But it's not uncomfortable or anything. The area doesn't even touch down on the seat.

I don't remember ever having a good fall on my tailbone, but I figured that could've been it. But the pains go and come. Last night the pain was so bad I could barely get up from this chair to get some food, but now there's not any pain at all. If something down there was damaged, makes sense to me that it would hurt consistently.

Just what i was thinking, i've crashed constantly on my tailbone and now it's moved a bit, if it is the tailbone it's most probably just bruised.

I think it's bruised, you could be sitting on the part where it's bruised the most and thats why it hurts more there than anywhere else, the on and off pain is probably due to the way you sit down.

if you bruised it it can take up to two months to unbruise. Im really happy that my heel on my left foot is finally not bruised (back to trying 360s out of qp). My pain in my heel came when I landed on it soft or hard, and I limped and it took about an hour for it to stop hurting bad.
Sounds like you hit your coccyx (tailbone).

yea its prob your tailbone...a wee tip...well i know skaters who do this but you could try is get a pair of socks...roll them up in a ball n stick them down your boxers where your tail bone is and if you fall on it you'll just land on sponge...its great...it does work...its jsut adds a wee bit of protection
