I was given an old Mongoose from the early 90's when they were a good name. I'm going to rebuild it.
It's full chrome, but will have to be rechromed ( thank god i know where I can get it done ). I got to find a forks cause the moron that had it, took a grinder to them so he could put pegs on.
This is going to be a fun job. Once I can I will get pics for you all to see
Wish me luck

yah a mongoose at walmart had kenda k-rads, poverty pedals, oddy lever and cables, not very good parts, but my freind has like 10 mongeese? from this guy that works at walmart an gets em for 15 a peice so he just rides a mongoose, stripes the brakes gyro takes kick stand off, an guard, little stuff an then ride them till they brake, incredibly they arent easy to brake, but im 150 an i did happen to brake a bottom bracket off a hoop-d, lol oh an brake mag rims

Hey thats great dude. I rebuild mongoose bikes all the time now. And the brand is just as good as it was long time ago, Lol! to me it is, Actually its better then the redlines and haros i think, but everybody like different things. Hope u can get some pix on here for us to look at, I'd love to see what ur working on. Do u chop your bikes,??? Like make them stand out from the rest. I do, i know a pro welder, and he does all my chop needs. I took in my hoop d about a month ago, and had him cut two inches off the frame, to make it sit lower. The seat post bar. He cut it, then rewelded it to fit perfect. It lloks better then it did, And still has all its strengh too, probably more now,. Its chrome also. Keep up the good work man.

yea walmart ones aren't great at all
if you buy them from real stores (the ones that still sell them) they are a lot better, i just bought a 06 (i think) brawler frame, and once i get it built im using it for dirt im just waiting on headset.
If you still need chrome forks from an older mongoose i have some that would probably need recoating but good condition otherwise

Yea, I agree with ya^^^My gf got me a mongoose at wal-mart, And i cracked the frame on it, It was a hoop d. But we broke up recently, So now its just sitting in my shed. Don't think i'll ever use it, cuz when i ride it i can't help but to think about her, So i'm selling it to anyone who may want it. Its up for grabs.
