Earlier today I was riding toward the local 24 hour soda vending machine. I was pedaling, standing up, then my wheel slipped and came forward, causing me to jump a few links, making me throw all my weight forward, which then caused me to go over the bars and onto the ground, hitting my shoulder first.

So basically, I can't move my left arm more than 20 degrees at the shoulder. When I press a small bit at the top of my left shoulder it hurts like the dickens.

Anybody have an idea of what I did to myself?

Sounds like a broken/fractured clavicle (collar bone). Don't be a dumbass on forums asking what to do.. goto the damn Hospital. The only way to heal a collar bone is use a figure 8 for 6-8 weeks correctly or get surgery and they put screws and a plate in. The surgery takes roughly 3 weeks to heal. But goto a professional, don't be foolish. You won't know exactly is wrong till you get x-rays. Belive me i fractured my left collarbone and broke the right one, each a different time. It sucks but i didn't opt for surgery, go get help ASAP.

duuuude wierd I'm in the exact same position you are right now... injured my left shoulder at a TP skiing last sat. can't move it more than 20 degrees and pain on the bony tip of my shoulder. I am scheduled for an MRI scan on friday, so decided to ask if people have had any experiences with this shit. I can lift my left arm with my right arm and move it around freely with only a little pain, but I cannot lift my arm by itself. My shoulder movement hasn't gotten any better since I injured it, so I think I messed up a ligament. Please tell me how your x-ray goes and if anybody else has some real advice and experience please share it.

Alright.
So I discovered the reason why I crashed was because my driver stripped out.
...
So I'm thinking that if my collarbone is broken I might sue Odyssey.

 dont sue oddy...they make good parts...i dont like when people sue for no reason...and since you cant ride, should i have our bike thread locked? or will we just wait till you heal, and we will resume?

Just wait. Can I use vids from before I hurt myself?

It sounds like you have an AC Seperation. If there is a little bump on your shoulder then yeah.

I have a small bump on my right collar bone b/c it was a clean break and not a fracture. So when the bone healed it overlapped one and other to cause a slight protrusion. Nothing real bad.

I doubt you can sue odyssey, why would you anyway? Especially if the driver was installed improperly.

FYI: it only take about 5 pounds of pressure to crack a collar bone, hence why an algebra book fractured yours. Its also a very common break in football.

I'm going in for an x-ray tomorrow, and I'll tell you how that goes.
By the way, it's really hard to type with one arm in a sling.

Moved.
Hope all is well and you don't need surgery or anything like that.

It appears as thought when I hit the ground the impact hyperextended my shoulder causing me to pull a muscle but without any other substantial damage.
I should be better by next week.

I'm almost all the way healed. After I ride for a long time it hurts thought. And I can't lay on my left side without getting a sharp pain in my shoulder.

after I excersized and stretched it out, like lifting it up and around. yesterday, it hurt like hell and felt all inflamed, but today it feels great, the sports physician guy said all I need to do is excersize it everyday and the scar tissue will work its way out, we'll see...
