Well I just wanted to put in my thoughts and see other peopls thoughts and ive seen a couple of threads like this about asking what bike? These bikes are not in any order just giving you an idea(its raining so i cant do shit)
Bully Impulse
270 bucks
32lbs
Chromoly bars, cranks, and frame. 3-pc cranks are what the key points are pretty cheap for a bike that can pack all that. Your probaly thinking the brakes dont work well because of tektros, and black rims. But the gyro has a DC aimplifier to make the breaking better. This bike isnt usualy for the people really tall though. If you care about weight, although its the average weight the base parts are ligther than most.
DK Six Pack
310 bucks
32lbs
Chromoly everything. Difference to the bully impulse partswise is it has a 13t freewheel, sealed hubs. Smaller Top Tube length also. Brakes should work great on this bike if you dial it in right. (I have never ridden one of these but im planing on buying one for my other place this summer)
Haro Backtrail X3
360 bucks
no idea the weight
well its chromoly everything, again and seems pretty nice. What sticks out of this bike is it has a cassette. IT has sealed cranks. Although itsn ot a much have, you'll sure as hell apreciate it. Haros are usualy dissed the hell out of these days but they're good begginer bikes.
SE Wildman
360 bucks
28.9 pounds
You know the drill, chromoly everything. Flip flop hubs, sealed cranks euro bb. In my opinion this bike is sort of a ripoff well compare to the bikes i listed.
Well thats it, got any comments or disses comment it.

i ride a backtrial and i love it. it's not overly heavy, and is solid as hell. you'd have a tough time breaking one.

its a good bike. but no, not for the price. I would suggest someting like the poverty g ride, or any of the bikes i suggested, then upgrade to your personal prefernce and still end up saving a hunderd bucks or so.
But if its the perfect size, parts, setup for you, go for it.

yea it probaly is, but i dont recomend not 100 percent chormoly frames, they tend to flex

i couldnt afford a 6 pack, so settled with the 8 pack, really good bike still for jumping, would reccommend for a 1st bike if your short on cash.

if your short on cash i would reccomend a used bike, or walmart bike and upgrade it as you go along. I would advise a aluminum walmart, but thats just me being a weight whore and me being a light rider.

Yah x2s are decent.
They will do you fine my bud gots one of em.
But im not a big fan of haro's and i acutaly have a reasonunlike most ppl.
1. I hate frames with the back end of the top tube curving down, just feels wrong looks wrong also.
2. There parts are decent for its price, but I really dont like them for some reason, and ive ridden a x2, and x0 when they still made x0s.
But for those who like the feel of haros, go for it!

ive broken my friends, lmao. completely stock. the back wheel bearings blew up, handlebars ended up bent. really not a great bike at all at least for hard riding dirt and street

yeah eastern has some good beginner bikes too
are backtrail x2's still good?
ive had mine for 3 yrs and it works great, all ive had to do was just the usual replacements... just wear and tear type things: tires, grips, pedals etc. My brakes have broken a few times but right now i have no money to fix it so im brakeless.... more fun in my opinion.
