the faster you go, the more you pull up, tuck and push the front end out infront to tuck more.
its all about form, if you dont pull the bars back enough that they hit ur legs, you wont get the maximum pulling up you can.
i get pretty high, its all about the form of how you pull up, how fast you go, and how well you can huck the bike, if you pull up too much, youll land at the flat part of the ramp instead of the downlanding, and thats no fun
quick story...
We were all chillen at the park a while ago, and this little kid (like 10 or so) had like an alluminum GT race bike, and at first we all thought he sucked, but he was actually kind of good. He was one of the ****iest little bastards you'll ever meet, but anyways.. he could do tricks and shit, but he had no style. Anyways he decided how high he could stack shit up and then jump over it on the box. He had an etnies bench (one of those skater ones) and those soda crates things (like 4 inches high) all stacked up, and he kept going higher and higher. he was only doing this for attention, and everyone else just stopped biking, and watched him pushing him to go higher and higher. One person was video taping, and we all wanted him to fall really bad.
Well, he finally found his limit... one soda crate too high. He got the height, but he didn't clear the box, and nosedove right into the end of the box, bent his fork, and nutted himself (if he even had nuts.. I'm not quite sure) We all laughed our fricken asses off, and he thought he was the coolest, and didn't realize we were laughing at him.... haha..
Later on the QP everyone waits on, he was looking at his fork and I heard him say "I have to pound this back tonight" hahahaha...
Moral of story, don't do what that kid did.

um...whack the bars off your knees and then throw your weight backwards.(if you know what i mean)
if you look at steven hamilton you'll see he actually moves his ass to the side slightly so it doesnt hit the tyre and he can get a couple more inches.
haha anyway. practice your bunnyhops. i can do ~toptube height hops on a good day but on video, my ass is nowhere near the tyre. just imagine pulling the bike up into your body as much as possible. it takes ages to learn though. and most of the time im too lazy to work on my hop height and end up doing wierd manual lines...

you want to pull up and back, basically, you want to change your trajectory to up rather than straight. So go up the ramp, lean back and pull back, then push back forward and bend your knees, land.
