Hello,

BMX-Forum is looking for 3 highly motivated fresh moderators to join our team. You have to be aged 16+.

First of all we would like to know who wants to become a moderator. You all know it can be hard work sometimes to keep the forums clean from spam and other crappy posts.

Please write a brief text (only a few lines) about why you think BMX-Forum rules and why you want to become a moderator.

The application time ends on Saturday.

i would like to become a mod :)
i reckon i could be a good mod because ive een here for over 2 years now, i know whats up and im familiar with all the rules. i also like to think im a pretty friendly and even guy so i wouldnt be favourotist in anyway or abuse my power if i were to be made a mod.

and the obligatory bmx-forum rules!
:D

I would like to be a mod, I'm on here at least twice a day. Im sixteen years of age. I may be a little harsh at times but hey I can change that if you guys want me to. I have been here for a while and know the rules pretty well. I would also make sure that all flaming by any and all members is not tolerated, seeing as we need to keep this a nice and friendly forum for all the new guys coming up into the sport. I have one infraction and I regret it and it will not happen again.

i'd also like to be a mod. i don't have as high of a post count as these guys, but i've been here a while and i know how things go on around here. I know the rules and i've never had an infraction. I can be blunt and maybe a tad sharp, but i know how to dispute flame fests and put an end to them. i'm sure i would be fair and balanced as well because i hate everybody equally! :D

i wouldnt mind being a mod.
because:
i find a lot of crap on here which needs to be deleted and need to pm mods who then sort it out a few hours later including spam + people posting in the wrong forums.
i think bmx forum rules because it's cool and stuff.

and i'm a cool ass mother ****er. - lol.

I wouldn't mind being a moderator either. For the reasons that Smickus said, I've come on here a lot to find that some kid has been spamming all over and can't do anything about it because there are no mods on. Not to mention that I have nothing good to do in the winter.

The community can help by using the report post function in top right of someone's post. The reported spam post goes out to all the moderators. You don't need to be a moderator to help remove spam!

Are the moderator positions filled yet? If not I'm interested in becoming one. I like contributing to the forum with my opinions and ideas. What better way to contribute more than to become a moderator?

i would like to be a moderator because i have a big knowledge about bike parts and how to fix them. I think im liked by most of the forum as well, also i tend to spend alot of my time at home searching the forums (nerd) and so im sure i will be able to keep the website clean of spam and abusive messages across the board. I have also been a member of the board for over a year with no bans.

i think bmx forum is awsome people who need help get helped and even though people get out of hand sometimes the mods are there to help. alot of things need to be checked on and deleted because of double posts and many other things.....no offence top current mods but i see double posts alot nowadays. i have a pretty good knowledge of parts and bikes and bmx related things too id say.i come on here alot so i figured itd be something cool to do and i could help out alot

Same here, and I ended up helping the guy pick out a bike on aim that I supposedly insulted! I will admit it was a bad choice on my part to say that and it will not and hasnt happened since then.

I'm cringing at the shameless self promotion I'm about to go into, but so be it - I would like to be more helpful in the BMX scene and I see this as a great oppurtunity to do just that.

What I have going for me:

Excellent English.
A long history of admin experience - other sites I admin include www.BesMella-Quake.com, www.own-age.com, www.Quaddicted.com... (I use the nick vb at these sites - I only use jawn here because vb was taken!)
A strong sense of civic duty. For instance, in my other interests, I do such things as conduct interviews, organise community recognition awards, promote various projects and groups. A long time ago I even ran a joint BMX/skate 'zine, going to the trouble of writing it all myself, printing and distributing it - all at the ripe ol' age of 11, and when BMX was in it's quietest years.
I come from a land down under, and thus have an Australian perspective on BMX. Additionally, I'd be likely to be online during times when our North American/European contigent are in bed or at work.
A lot of experience in BMX - I've been into it since the early 90's (when turndowns were called lookdowns, and people such as Bob Kohl ruled), and before that I was exposed to it a lot by my brother.
A mature attitude and sensible paradigm, a product partially of my age of 25.
Amateur journalism experience in various fields - Gaming, music (for instance the Australian music rag Revolver), BMX, skateboarding (not that I skate anymore).
Methodical ways of doing things. For instance, I strip URLs of non-essential PHP parameters and the like to make them concise and less obnoxious, and use relative URLs instead of absolute URLs where possible.
My Pokey The Penguin avatar! hehe

Check out how I behave at this forum, it probably hints at some things I've touched upon above: www.bmx-forum.com/member.php?u=21504

Now you're probably thinking, "jeez, look at this guy, he's gonna be heart-broken if he isn't chosen!" but on the contrary, I don't presume to be a front-runner, and will happily continue to contribute to this community I enjoy being part of.

I would like to apply to be a BMX-Forum moderator. I feel I have the maturity and understanding needed to be a moderator, a majority of my posts are usually very helpful and informative, and I feel I have enough experience in the world of BMX to make a difference here,

wow I sound like im campaigning for president.

I agree with Louis, and wouldn't mind seeing him as a mod either.

Ok, on to me.

I am well aware of alot in the BMX world. My experience is well...long in the industry and I personaly love it as much today as I did 27yrs ago when I started. I do tend to get argumentitive at times, but thats something that I have learned. When in a position(like a mod), you can't disrespect the position by acting that way, and i wouldn't. I also have seen as alot of the mods(current) have, that I will PM them and tell them of an issue on the forum. I never aim to be member of the month, I just aim to help people with riding or life whatever they ask(my injury thread is an example). And, last, if you look at my post count you can see I am on ALOT. My job allows me to be on not only when at home, but also during the day at work.

I thank the other mods for their consideration. Hopefuly I will get chosen for a position.

Thank you for your time,
Matt (MATRIX)

lol at all the people who have been here about 4 months applying
but then again I dont have 1000 posts so i can't talk.
i'm going to apply, but I am not going to shamelessly list my good qualities and "whai j00 shud p1ck m3 d00dz"
I know I dont have 1000 posts. maybe next time. but i have been here longer than some of the people applying here..omg there I go with the personal qualities...then again...some of them outrank me by years...
meh.
consider me please! but if not me, then it should be
Louis K (you f*cking deserve one more than anyone else imo)
