it depends on what kind of dirt ur diggen into. if u got like a clayish mixture itll hold but if u got top soil it wont hold as well....

my friends and i started to make one. problem is it takes a long time. and my friends are lazy. so i was always the last one digging. and the first one. besides we left the shovels out there and they were gone once. another time we found a box like a fireproof one, that you store important things in, filled with *** pornos...

we have a dirt halfpipe sortof. we drop in one side and jump back out the other (its dug into the ground) but all we need is a slightly bigger lip anda it would work as a halfpipe

i have some 10ft dirt qps.

THe biggest problem with dirt half pipe's and bowls is drainage, if you don't build them right, they collect water in the bottom and it turns into this nasty jello consistancy crap that will stop a bike cold.

i built a dirt quarter pipe it took ages we also put wood on the top tho we like buried a sheet of ply like 3/4 of a inch thick about 10centermeters below the surface of the ramp then got some huge screw a fixed the wood on top of the ramp to the wood that was buried because of the wieght of all the soil it was really solid. i still use it now even tho it takes like 20min to get to.

I once had a dirt spine of sorts. but if you are going to make a dirt vert ramp type thing do it on pvt. property (you have permission 0f course) because if not every little kid in the neighborhood will run up and down it for ever. another thing I had growing up that is like a vert quarter pipe anywayis places where like the city will did for gravel or something like that. probably a little better for motorbikes than peddle bikes, can't really 180 with motorbike. but found crazy hips and air outs. depends completley on the soil

one of the funniest jumps I ever had was like a 7 foot quarter pipe that lead up to a 12 foot landing. (a step up) it was dirt that was put there from someone digging out for a basement for a home. that was awesome. Think about it you have to jump up 5 feet just to make it to the landing, awesome you would just haul ass up to it jump as high as you could say 7-9 feet high and would have a very smooth landing. very fun

at our local dirttrack theres a pile of dirt that was used to make ramps. the front end bobcat thing made it the same shape as a quarter exept theres like 1foot of the top were its like 100 degrees so it comes back out. it makes awsome airout 180s and fastplants(i think thats what there called...) but u cant get on the top.
i've been working on one for a while but only have one side finished and it's more like a mini and it has a spine. the only other bmxer in my town had a really nice big dirt bowl, but his parents had him fill it before i could ride it. i live in "wine country" and graped grow good in hard, rocky, and clay really well, so, yeah... it gets hard... thats what she said::oops:

That was massive! And the wallride could've been much higher too.
