Odyssey are going downhill.

So much for being original. Those new evolvers are stupdily like fly brakes. Mmm copy copy.

They'll probably be cheaper, and they'll sell a million of them. It's good marketing.

Its deffinately a good marketing idea.

However considering the fuss odyssey made about keeping the elementary secret so no other companies could steal the idea it seems hypocritical to basically convert the evolver into a fly brake.

Probably for flatland... They arnt 0 degrees offset but the dropouts are of the suelos or odyssey flat forks.
Maby a mix between flat and street.

I saw this and other stuff on all different sites. The Colony lever is really a good idea, looks...who cares results is what I WANT.

And the EVOII isn't a set of Fly's if you compare them. But, they cut probably 25% weight and still stop like the originals...good deal.

I suggest looking more carefully then.

The exposed spring part is the same, the new odyssey pads look very much like the original koolstops, the reinforcement to the brake pad area is the same, as is the turn in the brake past the spring.

They arn't for flat. The steer tube is bent to give you the smae offset as a regular fork, so the dropouts can be straight and they weigh less. Pretty much Jim and Nuno are idiots for making them, it'll sacrifice too much strenght to save a really small amount of wait.

Oh, sorry for the double post.

Mmm.. I dont know, they cant be terrible if Odyssey is backing them up with there lifetime warranty and good customer support as always.
They do look pretty rinky-dinky though.

Chris

the lifetime warranty is a genious of a marketing plan, it fools people into thinking that the products are indistructable (because they have a lifetime warranty) so people will buy them. Thats why odyssey do it. likewise with macneil ID forks. they have a lifetime warranty now....

joes cracked both drop outs, and all the way round the steer tube.

GUTTED!

Damn, anyone see the newest video up on bmxonline? Jim C's got that shit dialed with the ripped downtube and the forks for pegless grinders. I'm going to end up buying an all new all Sunday bike haha. And then people will think I'm trying to be Ian Schwartz haha. Oh well.

If the Evo 2's are a better design, I don't really care if they look like another brand's brake. As for hypocrisy, they probably think of the Elementry as a better design too, they just got the opportunity to keep them quiet.
