This trick isnt very hard but it needs practice. If you aregood at bmx you can learn it in one hour.
I'll tell you some very good tips on how to learn this trick:
First you must have your seat at the same level with your knees,so u can catch it.
After this a good idea is to put your back wheel next to a fence so it will be jamed.
Now it depends on which foot you put in front. For example if you ride with your right foot forwards you rotate the bar only with your right hand and catch it with your left hand.
As you can imagine now you lift the front wheel and spin the bar. When you spin the bar you musnt look at the bar. When spining the bar try a lookout for example.
After you practiced this it's time to do it while moving. You must do it at a slow speed whenyou firstlearn.
After a few pedals, concentrate and lift your front wheel but in the same time hold your seat tight with your knees then spin the bar as fast as you can.
These were the tips that helped me lean the barspin flatland.
Also,if you can't do it the first time you try don't feel discouraged. You may have a bad day. Try it the next day or when you feel you can do it.
And dont forget: PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!!
Good luck and have fun!!!!

you don't have to lift your wheel to do a barspin...

its more stylish to do a barspin from a manual position and this is the real barpin flatland.if u think so argue with dave mirra about it.or just look at his tips and tricks movie.
and u dont have to hold ur seat when doing it,but its easier to learn like this.

well im just telling that its only one flatland barspin.its like b-hop.there is only one b-hop but there are variations of it that arent good.like the first time u learn b-hop u dont pull the front wheel in a almost vert position.u just pull it v little and u still think its b-hop.

how do u barspin without lifting ur front wheel at all????? just tranfser your weight back and spin extremely hard?/
manual barspin is simple and pretty obvious as to what u have to do.. unless u didnt realize u had to throw with one hand and catch with the other..

i can do like a half barspin (ie 180 degrees) without lifting up the front.... just spin with one hand quite hard.... spin in the direction that ur turning if that makes any sense...
abyss91
07-22-2006, 09:38 AM
omg nathanjbro that aint a barspin for christs sake.that a nub thing that u r doing.u have to catch the bars with one hand.u MUST NOT throw them like that cuz it sux to do it at it looks crappy.thats why u do "hal barspin".did u read my tips on how to barspin flatland or u just wrote that cuz u think its better?

a flatland bike is specialy made for doing flatland tricks.i dont see anyone grinding or getting some air with a flatland bike.and i dont see anyone doing some difficult flatland trciks with a street bike.

if your good at bmx you can definately learn it in quicker than 1 hour. Its just the mental issue of letting go of your bars that hinders everyone from trying this trick at first.
I know that getting angry helped me learn these haha. i was so pissed that i was trying them for so long and i just went out and threw my bars and got barspins.

it depends which street bike u had.i mean the lenght of the frame and the design of the frame.
abyss your digging a hole for yourself, any rider can adapt to any kind of bike, look at the people who ride street on 24" bikes, i never wouldve thought that it could be done, but some guys shred on those, and flatland can be done on a street bike, theres not much difference besides the frame shape and dimensions, which you can adapt to.
as for the barspins, theres several different variations you can do, and theres not just ONE right way.

i dont wanna sound liek a dick or anything but dont tell people how to stand while doing a trick it should say however you feel comfortable because if you spin with your right and your right foot is forward to have a better chance of slamming the bar into your knee

tbh flatland barspins are pretty shitee and your getting way too worked up over this.
the only thing there good for is learning to do hop spins.
llamas and guitars. for in the air.. dont worry about pinching
hop and level out..as you level out tuck your legs back and throw and conpletely let go
and abyss you can barspin pretty much any bike
i can barspin a 12 inch wheeled bike with 20 inch bars and my mate can hop bars it. your talking rubbish

I happen to ride left foot forward, but I spin with my right hand and try to catch with my left. I was wondering what I can do better so my left hand will catch it. It's hard for me to do so.

Just lean a little bit back do ones where you switch your hand and throw it around keeping you hand on, then when you get good at that, do half bar spins, then gradually get to the point of throwing them around all the way catching them with ease with out spazzing like my friend does lol

I just recently learned the 360 flatland, and im real new at this. when i tryed learning it i didnt move the seat down and that prob increased the time it took me to learn it, but when u first start just pinch the seat more then what your comfortable with and while your lifting your front wheel spin it just a little before you take your hands off for the final throw with hands.
I remembering doing these like 2 months straight then after that (3 years later never did them again).
