Simply Gripping

The long held supremacy of the ODI Longneck is over, well thats my opinion anyway. Having gone along with the hype surrounding the ODI Longneck as the daddy of all grips I wanted a change, a change to a cheaper grip. It all started when my brother insisted on a pair of Hoffman Dimple grips, I tried to convince him ODI Longnecks were the way to go but he was having none of it. I put his bike together while he was at work and stragiht away the Hoffman Dimple grips felt really good, not to dis-simlar to the ODI Longnecks. Myself in need of new grips opted for the Hoffman Dinmple grips and at half the price of ODI Longnecks I couldn't ans wasn't complaining. They were a doodle to fit with my good old spray on har spray and slide on and dry rock hard technique. I chopped off the flanges as they get i nthe way of the brake lever, look ugly and are uneeded. There of a similar length to the ODI Longnecks, maybe a centimetre or so shorter which is idea for me as I have super narrow bars and small hands so I don't need that much grip. They are wearing very well and I have only had a chance to use them with gloves on as I seem to suffer from a nasty case of brake finger blister and its been cold over here and only just started to warm up. The grips come with plastic bar plugs that really do like to take some abuse and I crash a lot, why pay for bar ends when a perfectly good set are included with the grips.

Pros:

+ Cheap

+ Nice diamond shaped pattern offers good grip

+ Long lasting

+ Come in loads of colours

+ Thin ideal for smaller hands

+ Plastic bar plugs take a beating.
Cons:

- Flanges are a pain but some cutting and a few mins later everythings sorted

If your after a cheaper alternative to the ODI Longneck then this is the grip for you, at half the price and packing everythignt he ODI Longneck does why pay more.

Interesting. The people I know that had them wore them out in the first week. As in split apart completely, and damn thinned.

hmm im thinking about getting some grips aswell, because with mine, as soon as my hands get sweaty, instead of the sweat going into the gaps, it stays and i cant grip for shit. So it a choiuce between these, the longnecks or the edwins?

Let the battle commence!

i have them and i love them. Not too hard or soft, and the wear is only small. I've had them for a few months, and one side is almost completely worn, but i just twisted them round and I will get a few more months from them at least
