Question about chevy and ford trucks

Me and my friend were argueing about this chevy truck we saw. I told him but can you factory get a 350ci engine (vortex, or regular) in a Chevy model truck from 88-98 and if so do u think it will beat a ford f150 with a 4.6 289ci Triton. I know it will but please humor my friend. its a 5.7 350 i think vs a 4.6 289. theres no comp....

Vortec motors were only available 96 and up - a properly spec'd Chevy with a Vortec 350 would STOMP on a Ford. The 281 cubic inch (4.6 liter) engines are crap. I should know, my cop car has one. They can't even get out of their own way.

I have an 89 G20 high top Custom Craft Sportvan with a 350 and it hauls ass.

It's got custom exhaust so it sounds ****ing sweet, and it does some sweet burn outs too!!

I beat my buddy's Toyota Supra with it.

Not in a f150 trust me. my dad drives an 04 Heritage F150 wit a 4.6 triton v8 wit 20's, power programmed, and superchiped and it has a hard time just keepn up wit the 4.3 Vortex in chevys....sad but he doesnt really race it its just a good truck to drive to work.

my mom used to have a 96 silverado with a 5.7 vortech that thing was fast, so yea it would probly stomp a 4.6 ford

I'm sure he would have wasted me, but it was his girlfriend's car and she was with him so he had to tone it down. It still felt good for a minute. I know it was killing him to have to let me win.
That thing could do some crazy stuff when she wasn't in it.

i have a 1995 chevy with a 350 tbi, and its ok but the 289 would prolly beat it, but if it was a 350 vortec... vortec would take it w/o question.

fords suck. most ford dealers are douches for some reason, they are hard to get parts for anywhere,

i guess weve had better luck with gm.
