I got a kyocera because of G's recomendation and it is a great camera, the only downside it that it has shitty battery life. I have never seen a digital in it's same price range take such clear BMX photos.

It doesnt realy matter about the shutter speed. i have 1/10'000ths of a second on the quickest setting, i dont need it all tho. if you use a shutter of more that say about 1/1'500ths then your picture will be dark. I use about 1/250ths - 1/600ths of a second mostly. If you have a flash then that will freeze your picture for you. How much have you got to play about with?

In a camera look at the:
ISO want it to have a deacent range like 100/200 - 1000 ( i use a low ISO usualy 200 but occasioanly 400, the higher the ISO the more gariny the pic but the lighter the picture.

Apeture/f-stop want it to have a good range like 2.8 - 20 eg... but you wont need more than 8 for a bmx pic i wouldnt have thought, i hover around 2.8 - 6

Shutter speed deacent range. The shutter speed determines how much light the camera lets in by how long its exposed. If you have a exposure time of 15-30 seconds you should be able to take a picture of a pitch black room and the picture will be light. On the other end, if you use about 1/10'000ths in day light with no flash, picture will be dark asif its night, even witha flash, you should only be able to see the subject.

The other great thing about the kyocera is that all of the settings aside from focus can be set manualy. Plus that 3.3 frames per second sequence mode makes for some sweet sequence shots.

I just REALLY REALLY wish the battery life was better, it is beyond terrible. I think I get about an hour at the most, and that is when I leav it off except when taking a picture.

Yep it focuses real fast, plus like almsot any camera, you can hold down the button half way to make it focus ahead of time, and then press it down all the way to take the picture. Plus the 3.3 frames per second mode coudl probably get 1 pic fof the lip, 2 in the air, one on the landing so you could actualy see your friend spinning the 3.

Mine is the finecame SLR400R.

For the price, It probably beats any other camera except for battery life ]= It uses a rechargeable ion lithium, but it is removeable wich is nice, so one of these days I will buy an extra or 2 to keep with me.

that's not at all true - it only happens with your camera. what happens is that a camera can only do so much with the available light, and so if you take a picture at a fast shutter speed with insufficient light then it will be underexposed and will come out dark. however, widening the aperture, or increasing the ISO is all that can be done to correct this other than merely shooting in better light. if there is enough light, any shutter speed can be shot with to produce a light enough picture. i have overexposed with 1/4000th of a second and f8 before now.
