Ive been away from the bmx world for a couple years(5-6) basicly since i got my license =). anyway, its time for me to get some exercise and start having fun riding bmx again. I am looking to get a bike for basicly just riding. I would ride it to my friends houses instead of driving, take rides to random places for exercise. And just mess around on the street with my other friends who still ride. I dont really plan on constantly doing tricks, grinding, or riding dirt trails, basicly just street riding.
So my question is am i better off with a light aluminum racing bike or a 5 lb heavier chromoly frame/bike. I dont want it to break but i want it to ride the best and quick. ALso just be smooth and a all around good complete bike.
I posted in the beginner forum about maybe getting a eastern element (recomended by a friend)

Don't buy an aluminum frame. Al is a very poor material for bike frames. It has odd ride characteristics and is prone to sudden catastrophic failure. Stick with a nice 4130 CroMo Steel frame. It will ride better, last longer and won't suddenly blow apart while your riding. Even light riders break Al frames.

Paint it red if you want a fast bike as everyone knows red ones go faster...

It's funny, the Volume Ardelean frame I got a few months ago weighs less than my last race frame, an S&M Neal Wood.
