Simple Green leaves a slightly sticky residue that will work GREAT for a while. eventually it gums up the pads and they stop working so well.
i think the best thing to have on your rim is NOTHING at all, bare rubber on bare rim. you can get this effect by using glass cleaner or rubbing alcohol on your rim. if that doesn't stop, your pads are too hard for the surface of your rim and you should get some stickier, softer pads.

thanks for the info i think i might try rub some drink coke on to the rim and let it dry as it will make the rim surface sticky and also people say it also works too. Then if not then ill try put some alchol or window cleaner onto the rim. thanks for your help

you should have bought a chrome rim. chrome is the best braking surface.
try some clear brake pads. i heard they're a really soft and sticky compound.
i think rubbing alchohol works, cleans it up a bit
you could sand your pads with some sand paper, and cut lines in it
...
grind notchs in your rim, so it chews the brake pads up, but stops great hahaha

the best thing to do for black rims is put little inch long pieces on black electrical tape probably 4 on each siide of the rim. and they will work so good after the stickyness gets around the rim. but you will go through more brake pads than usual cause they heat up easier, but definatley worked really well for me.

You already have the softest pads. Dial your brakes in, and clean your rim and they will work perfectly
