Is there any good software for running a race night, to make it easier to manage the classes and results?

ABA or NBL if ABA they should supply you with a copy of MOTOMAKER at no charge . If NBL I know they have one but I don't know what it is called.

We come under BMX New Zealand (http://www.bmxnz.co.nz/) and Bike NZ (http://www.bikenz.org.nz/) and therefore follow a strange combo of NZ rules and UCI - but right now most of it is gobbledegook :)
One lovely thing we have to contend with for season rankings etc is the UCI cutoff comes mid season for us because our season is Oct - March while the northern hemisphere summer is mid year. This means we could be making the kids compete in two age groups in one season.

The Olympics will be using the NBL Rules and Regs per UCI you might contact Donna Smith and the NBL and ask for the software they use. I am sure she would be happy to help. www.nbl.org . She is the person in charge of new track development.
