Well I'm trying to get better at doing them, so if anyone has tips please feel free. My friend can get so much higher then me, I'm pretty sure my problem is I don't bend my knee's enough. But any other tips? The video above is of me yesterday, and yeah sorry about video capture quality, if you read my other thread, you know how it is.

I know. OK. once you reach the lip of the jump then pull the front end of the bike up real high and tuck your knees. Try to pull the bars upward towards your chest.

Got any tips for tabletops? (the trick)

I could explain but Im sure this will help alot better. (From bmxtrix.com) Good tips sent in from different people.

Rider Submitted Description #1

1. Head at a regular speed to the jump because if you are going to fast it will probably not feel good and you won't have enough time to do the trick.

2. Now the trick all depends on where the pedals are. If you want to do the table to the right - your right pedal must be down and vice-versa for the left. Or you can take off with your pedals level then move them.

3. Now after all the above is done, slowly unweight your bottom body and start to push up a little. Then at the same time start to push down on the handlebars.

4. Then when getting ready to land, start to push the back of your bike down, and move your hips a little to left. Have the handlebars straight when landing. then Ride away.

Note: If doing the table top to the other side reverse all the directions except for pushing up on the back and pushing down on the bars.

Rider Submitted Description #2

PREREQUISITES: Kickouts help you get used to moving your body in air

VARIATIONS: Flatties: half-bar turn w/table Add a 360 for style!!

DESCRIPTION:

1. You need a jump that will kick you up for enough time and height to even attempt a table. I first learned them on a 2 1/2 footer that kicked me up to about 4 ft high. Also get really used to the jump before trying this trick, as it will boost your confidence. And you should probably try this first on a jump without a gap, as it will reduce your chances of hurting yourself.

2. Approach the jump with moderate speed, enough to get at least 2 ft high off the lip.

3. As you reach the peak of your jump (or right before you do so) push your handlebars down to the side and pull your legs up and to the side so that the bike tables. Then level yourself out for however you need to land.

The trick sounds very simple, but its not. Start small, and even if you only tweak it an inch or so, I still give you props for trying. Just take it slow, have fun with it, and add some style to it by doing rad combos like the flattie. Keep your concentration and don't let anyone pressure you into hurting yourself trying a new trick. I'd try this alone the first time, so no one can put pressure on you or mess up your concentration.

Rider Submitted Description #3

VARIATIONS: 1 footed, 1handed

DESCRIPTION: Before you try this, first just be comfortable in the air, and on hips.

Start off by just wiggling the bike in the air and whipping it slightly on hip jumps so you get the feel of the gyro effect of the wheels and how you bike handles in the air.

The key to leaning the bike over flat is keeping your wrists loose and sucking the back end up with your lower, inside leg.

Tables are easier on a hip jump, to the left or the right, whichever comes naturally.

Head at the jump at a normal pace, just like you would to jump it normal. I'm going to describe this the way I do it, on a hip that turns right, but you can reverse the directions to make it work for you.

As you leave the lip, you want to leave the front end a little higher than the rear, the leveling out is done during this trick. Despite having the front high you want a little weight forward, to bring the bike nose-down for the landing.

As you come off the lip, with the bars high, lean the bars over to the right, perpendicular to the ground, by pushing the right grip down and pulling the left grip up and over.

You can't lean the front of the bike over without doing the same for the rear, so as your doing this you want to tuck your legs like a bunnyhop, only lay over and suck up the rear into your body with your right leg, leaving your left knee against the top tube.

As this is completed you will have to get ready to land, so you basically undo what you did with your right leg and push the bike back down with your left knee and foot, bringing you bars back also, pointed in straight in the direction your traveling or down the landing ramp.

Rider Submitted Description #4

PREREQUISITES: Kick outs, one-handers, one-footers

VARIATIONS: one handed, one footed table top

DESCRIPTION: I prefer to do my table top off ledges, stairs, benches etc.(for jumping ledges, stairs.)first, pick a case of stairs or ledge which is higher than long.

Don't kill yourself as you approach the ledge, go a normal speed just enough to clear the case-when you bunnyhop make sure u bunnyhop high.- once your in the air level out a little with some weight to the front

If you want to bring the bike to the right place your right pedal down or a little down-now bring up your legs and pull with your right hand and push down with your left hand all at once-hold it as long as you feel comfortable

Bring everything back not to fast but just in time.

Land back wheel first - do a 180x-up off the curb then ride away

Rider Submitted Description #5

PREREQUISITES: X-ups are always good and sometimes a one-footer can help

VARIATIONS: 360 tabletop, one handed

DESCRIPTION:

1) First of all , find a good jump that give you a good 2 or 3 seconds of air if your not so skilled at jumping, and approach the jump as if jumping it normally

2) Then as you take off from the lip (or take off, or pipe or whatever) if you are right handed, kinda roll your right hand forward on the grip( ex. like that way you would turn the grip on a dirtbike throttle, except roll it forward)

3) Push your right pedal down , and bend your legs, and while you are bending your legs, or after you have bent them , pull your right hand up to your right armpit, and extend your left arm and and put all of your weight to the left and you bike will automatically turn flat

4) When you are ready to land just put your arms back to normal position and then land and ride off

This trick is not hard to learn if you do it right and it will make a crappy rider look like a pro!!

Go slower. Go slower and slower and slower each time you jump those, going slower will force you to pull up harder to clear the jump and you will be gradualy getting more air.

pump more and lean into the transition a little more before you leave the lip - that's what helped me.

Got any tips for tabletops? (the trick)

all i have been told is to push the bar away from you and not toward you, and it actually works. here: ex. if you tilt your bike to the right, instead of pullin the right side of your bars, push the left side, and it works better.

Okay thanks for the tips...I was looking on my camera and pausing it to see motions...idk anyone else do that? or am I just weird. Anyway my friend like crunches down right before he hits the jump. So I think all I need is to do that, which will cause me to bend with the jump and I definately need to pull up more. I was practicing off the curbs and it helps a lot :D

Yeah, just like you crouch before you bunnyhop. You can bunnyhop good right? Do a regular bunnyhop right when you reach the lip of the jump.

Go slower too, if you start pulling up with that much speed you are going to overshoot.
