yeah...i have the same question. can one use a "dirt" bike for street? are dirt bikes less tough and will break easier? can i throw pegs on a dirt bike? or should i buy street specific bike if i'm plannin to do strictly street?

yes..i did search.

Theyre basically the same, one's just over-built.

Let me break it down; again. (I've done it once before, but I'll cut you some slack since it was a long time ago.)

Street: Thicker tubing, faster head tube response, generally a tad shorter, and thicker drop outs.

Dirt: Thinner tubing, a tad longer, re-inforced front end, and rear triangle. The rear-triangle is strengthened against ripping it off (backward), whereas street is re-inforced against twisting, and thinner, shorter dropouts.

As you can see, one is clearly built 'stronger' (it's not stronger, just has different 'strength points") - the street one. Now, you can use street for dirt, but dirt on street isn't recommended unless you're smoother than taj, ruben, and Kris bennett put together.

it doesnt matter unless you are trying bigger stuff that someone thats just starting, give it a few months, if you are looking to buy a bike though get street.

i use a trails bike on street but you wouldnt know it by looking, i got the thicker dropouts, but the frame is longer, thick tubes though..

**** me i dont know what my bike is for lol.

Way to pull a thread out of the cobwebs... Dude, as Wynex has said, don't reply to old ass topics, just use them to search for information. Thank you, drive through.

if your not sure what you wanna do just get a freestyle bike and set it up with stuff you like then it really dont matter what you ride it on as long as you like the way it rides and looks

As usual EvanC had a good clear comment again...such a shame he isn't around any more.
