BMX Racing - Like Marmite?

I personally dont hate it or like it to be honest, its just one of thoses things, but I know loads of guys that hate BMX racing but havent given me a decent excuse, I would like to know your views on this...

exactly man i know what ya mean. When I raced I mostly hung at the track with the guys and i go to a park with dirt tires and they automaticly ask Why are ya on a race bike?

Not exactly the the same but i get hassled for the racing at parks.

its horible... i don't race but im at the track alot just jumping and racing for fun, and i ask if one of my friends if they want to go to the track to take some jumps they say no and blah blah blah. i really don't see why racing is bad or anything. thats like saying some one who rides street shouldn't ride park... and thats just silly.

racing is the shit..... i dont accually race a lot but i think its hella fun. my friend is a racing maniac hes got a "sponshership" which gave him 3000 to spend on a bike and it is the sexiest bike ever. if u ever ride a race bike with chris king hubs u will wana only race those things r awesome

I love racing, its an awesome feeling. Just going around a track flat out with big jumps (hopfully) head to head, elbows side by side and insane crashes. Especially at big meets its just 30-40seconds of pure adrenaline. I love it.

I raced whole seasons when I was in college because I lived near a great track, and I think it's a lot of fun. I never took it too seriously, but I had a great time doing it. I still race cruiser a few times a year.

well racers dont mind riding street and park i mean look at brian foster. He went from racing for schwinn to dirt jumping for fit bikes.

yeah but Brain Foster isnt very technical, he just whizzes round the park and can only do things like Turndowns, X-ups, spins and Tabletops, but hes quick man!

i dont like racin, could be the fact that i find it borin to watch people go round a track, no sense of freedom like you do on ramps or flatland, you know what you have to do whereas flatland and ramp you can do what you like, different people have different likes and dislikes, im sure its cool to do and all but i havent tried it, i jus dont like watchin it, its probably the reason why everyone else hates racin?

ido park,street,dirt and i race. racing is a diferant type of fun. its not mellow like havin a seshon down the park with ur mates its more agressive. plus i love the wind in my hair and racing blows my hair the most.

i have never raced on a official rast track but i shure would like to some day. if its anything like racing down the street i'm shure its fun.

Not really much of a racer either to be honest, there's a track near us which I used to ride round a lot, just doing the jumps and messing about. but the whole racing thing seems too much like hard work to me, I prefer to just do my own thing.

Well Racing BMX isnt really the best disapline to express youself. accept maybe if your angry???

It may not seem fun but to people that only watch and DONT do it, but once u try it, its actually fun, u get to hang with mates and race for fun i know its not like park or street but more of an challenge to beat others. But not for people that only like to complain about stuff they dont try. :D :D :D :D and i hate marmite, and i think racing is more athletic in my view lolz

i love racing, meeting new people for a competitive reason
getting over yourself and having a good time. there are jerks in every sport but when someone you beat the pants off of comes up and tells you good race it humbles you, maybe not as much as when they beat you but you learn more about yourself every race. and i like to watch the 5&6 year olds there so fu#@ing cute out there with all there gear peddling as fast as they can :P . can't wait to have ten. and the parents are some of the most supportive and nice poeple i've meet. :prost:
