Suelo stuff

Over the last months we have realized that we were not paying enough attention and effort on the Suelo stuff. As you may know we are just three guys running FlyBikes so is hard to handle everything. So we've been thinking on a new way to pay the attention that flatland requires. We'll tell you the whole plans very soon but for now, here are two new products that are already being produced.

Front brake

Finally we came with the final design of it. It was not as easy as we though at the beggining as the cable direction is totally different. So the arms should be different as well. The brake is basically the same as the rear one but with these changes:

• Straigh arms

• Different shape of end of arms to achieve a cable direcction parallel to the floor.

• The arms are positioned in the opposite side of the rear one. That makes the brake very close to the fork. The springs and plates are on the same place but since the arms are so close to the fork, it gives more scuffing room.

• There is no hardware needed besides the cable tensioner. Just the 2 arms, springs, plates, bolts and one tensioner makes the job. The simpler, the better.

Bars

We figured out a way to have two piece bars look with even a narrower bottom as 4 piece bars. The way was simply to use the tightest bend on the bottom, cut it and welded right close to the stem. We've been testing it for some months now so it's strong so don't worry about that.

For the tubing, we used the same heat treated 9 butted technology as our 3amigos bars so the weight is ridiculous. 545 grs. Here is a drawing with the butted shape of the bar.

Another detail is the crossbar. We used a 20mm. one instead 22mm. to reduce a bit the weight. It looks nicer too.

We hope you like them. Both items will be available around end of March-early April.

Like I said, we'll tell you more about the Suelo stuff soon.
