I am new to bmx, and I have just bought a 2005 mongoose villian, I really want to get in to flatland, these guys and girls that do this stuff are totally amazing and I am addicted to it, have I made a good choice of bike. I would appreciate any body's advice, on the way to go, and things to start with.

Thanks

well,if you are going to be riding flatland only i would recomend taking of your back brake and gyro as i belive its not to important in flatland unless you really wanna do certain backwheel tricks.Get 4 flatland specific flaland pegs, take a look at the bizhouse pegs at www.customriders.com
If you wanna ride both street and flat just get 4 light street pegs(demolition dumb chucks are good) and add some griptape on the top only leaving the bottom plain for grinds while having some nice grip for when riding flatland.
To save some weight what will help with all around styles i suggest cutting bars down, seatpost, removing uneeded things such as back brake(maybe),reflectors etc...
If you have a bit more money a new stem(short reach) and and new bars specfic for flatland will help a great deal(if u can do this let me know and i will give you a few good options and were to get em from)
good luck
Oh yeah a odyssey 99er seat would be a good upgrade for rising flatland, this can be purchased from nearlly any shop(BMX mailorder shop) in the UK
Anything else you wanna know..just ask
