This stem is pretty good.It is a front-loader with replacable hardware (stripped bolt ect.).I think the reach on it is 43mm or more.It grips
VERY well to the bars and even better to the forks. It might move during the beginning of it's life, but that's just it breaking in.I am not the hardest of riders by far,but do get ruff sometimes. The stem has ALWAYS held to the forks and never really came loose.Maybe 1 or 2 adjustments. My bars
have moved some before, but if you keep it clean and use the 13 method
42
than your good to go and your bars won't move. The small nuts that it come with do strip quite easily though, but just go to the hardware stor to take care of that.Obviously Odyssey has done it again....made a great product! This stem comes in pretty cheap too at $34.95. I thi8nk that's it if anyone else wants to comment on this stem then have at it.
P.S. Could someone please post a pic of this stem please?I can't get pics. You can find some at danscomp.com or odyssey's site.thanks.

I quite like the look of that stem. Rather an Elementary stem anyday though.

I think its the best thing to come out in years. Apart from maybe the shadow chain, but that design was was overdue.

I think the elementary stem is innovate but I think it is a little on the weak side i have heard a bunch of people that have been breaking them already. There is a stem that i believe came out a few months ago that is almost just as light but much stronger. It is made by Eighttrack bikes and is called the truman stem. I am very pleased with its performance as well as some of the other riders in the area who are rockin it too.
this stem is one to watch for. I think their site is under construction right now but check it out.

I don't think any weak stem would crush your handlebars

i didn't mean the clamping power. i have heard some people say that they have been breaking. there just isn't enough structure there to hold up to the beating.

It's pretty clear that you are affiliatted with making this stem in some way. Awesome, making your own parts is fantastic. However that stem is flawed. See my other post. It may be decent, but from a mechanical standpoint it is an efficient version of a a traditional stem design, machined in the wrong places to save weight. From an engineering standpoint, the Elementary's compression wedges allow the stem to save weight by removing the excess area you need to properly anchor bolts to dissipate the force of load in a stem. I know several burly guys who have this stem, and I haven't seen a bad thing. I'm not dissing your effort completely, but check your mechanical facts.

Just so you know, those are the "old style" CFN Stem, Odyssey went back to the drawing board and removed some more metal. Looks a little better in my opinion.
Here is the "new style" CFN Stem, Hard to find pictures of, Best I could do.
