street riding brakeless

juts wondering when you ride brakeless do you have to be really good at like foot jams and all of that or can you just go brakeless wihtout being like a pro at bikes. And if you ride brakeless can you use for all types like park dirt faltland and all of that.

i ride brakeless in nyc traffic all the time but thats just me and wat i do. if your gonna go brakeless jus try riding without touching your brakes for a week and see how you like it .

I wouldnt advise doing dirt without brakes, I also wouldnt think flatland would be as easy as it is with brakes. I dont see the need to take brakes off, well i took my front one off. But for some people they prefer the feel. I personally think its stupid. One reason id ever do it is if i dont dare try something so ill take my brakes off and move my seat so i cant jam in back wheel.

Riding with brakes will help you with learning general bike control. Once you have a good handle on your bike the next step is up to you.

I rode brakeless many years ago for close to 5 years, mainly because I was lazy and never maintaned them and they went to shit and never worked right. However, I haven't taken the brakes off my new bike because I haven't really decided on whether or not I want to yet.

If I decide to, I will. But I won't come in here asking if I should take my brakes off or not and neither should you :wink:

If you can ride a brike confidently, and you want to try brakless... go for it. Brakeless = free & more fun imo.


And if you ride brakeless can you use for all types like park dirt faltland and all of that.


Dirt I guess depends on what your riding. I wouldn't advice but i've never really done any path jumps or anything like that.
Depends on the park. If it's really open you can just lose your flow and slow down. Only problem I think at parks would be other people getting in your way.

I ride brakeless because cables get in the way, and too much stuff loosens to quickly. Maintaining brakes is a pain. I ride everything brakeless. I will probably put brakes on soon though because my park said that their going to start requiring brakes. You can use it for everything.

HAHA^^^ i was reading this and was gonna post that same exact thing but you beat me to it.

my friend rides brakeless and he says it helps him commit to doing things because he doesnt have the sense that he can just squeeze the brakes if he wants to back out. he does dirtjumps and park and street all brakeless. he can still stop easily with foot jams in the back tire but i would advise having a pair of shoes with a tough sole for that, i tried it for a few days and my shoe started to wear down where i kept jamming it in the tire to stop.

ridding brakeless is totally up to you and if you feel comfortable doing it and think that you can react in time to stop with your foot.

brakeless is not bad if you are careful and can stop or jump off your bike to avoid a collision. That being said I would never ride trails brakeless.

i just took my brakes off because they were getting to screwed up to work right. the only time id say you need to run pegs is if your learning to ride park or if you do abubicas or fufus. i personally prefer to ride brakeless now because you cant chicken otu of stuff as easy eather.

for every one that rides brakeless, remember this little piece of advice. "cars have brakes, i dont, so they can stop before me" . and if they do happen to hit you, threaten to sue and get some cash out of it.

brake less is pretty fun i did it for about 3 months before i went through me shoes

its pretty easy to stop just give your self enough time and dont jam your foot realy hard or crooked and youll be fine

but when your there it's fun :)
