So you say its when your braking?hmmm....sounds like an alternater problem to me. Because that is hooked up to the engine and when you brake the rpms go down. wich means the altenater rpms go down. And if the altinater is already strugaling that could be it. But then you say your battery had died. Wich also could come from a bad altinator. Sound like a altinator to me.

do this for me.

start the vehicle, then unhook your battery cable so its not touching.

if the engine stays running, your alternator is still good.

if it dies, your alternator is bad.

did this idk how many years ago, before people said some places will check your battery/alternator for free..

how old is the battery? if its older than 2 years, it could be battery

take the vehicle into local parts store and have the battery/alternator checked, they will be able to tell you which one is bad or faulty

^^^Agree with all of their posts. My money is on the alternator. If your battery keeps on dying and your lights are a bit weak like you stated it is most likely the alternator.Or get a buddy over to your house and swap batterys and put yours in his car and if it starts fine and lights are bright and normal its your alternator.

I had a similar issue with a 2002 Taurus...it ended up being the starter of all things.

Bennies idea is a good start, after that...check all electrical...and the starter.
