I guess I should probly start with my level of experience and what I ride. I used to ride alot about 19 years ago and have not ridden bmx bikes in the time since, some Mountain bike. I am getting back into it because my kids are coming of age and what better way to spend time with them!
So I was looking for a decent beginner bike that I could do some flatland on and also do vert riding with. So far, so good. This is a pretty solid bike although it comes with 1 piece cranks( which I promptly switched out with a set of 3 piece and threw on an oddissy sprocket). I am not a big fan of 1 piece cranks. The el2 comes with 3 piece cranks in case your interested.
The frame is not full chromo but the forks are. The forks are set up for 14mm wheels like the rear dropouts. The wheels are 48 spoke unsealed with single wall rims. I have been practicing tailwhips and have yet to bend the back rim. I have also taken a couple of nasty spills on the quarter pipe and the bike is fine.
Brakes work pretty good considering the black rims which are notoriousely garbage for stopping. It has a nice rotor set up though.
The Disrupter is kind of heavy especially with the pegs. But it is a solid feeling heavy. All in all, I would give this bike an 8 out of 10 for a beginner.
Pros:
Great price
Feels solid
takes a beating
Cons:
1 piece cranks
Kinda heavy
