I've been riding the Scerbo bars for about 5 weeks and these are my favorite bars of all time. These are four piece bars, so at first they seem a little funny. They're basically an update of the old GT bars from the early 90's, which were personal favorites of mine. These are the perfect street bars, because of the way they rise up and out, which places your hands in the perfect position to pop the bike up. The four piece design means the bottom is fairly narrow so tall riders (like myself) don't wack their knees so much. 8 inches of rise is a lot, so here agin, these are designed for tall riders. As soon as I put these on my ride I could feel a very positive difference. The last two sets of bars I ran (Haro Slim and the old Animal bars) I always found my hands searching for the perfect sweet spot, which wasn't really there. With the Scerbo's I found my sweet spot in about 10 seconds. I think I like these bars so much because they're quite different than most of the other bars available. The thicker tubing means these bars won't pretzel like the old GT's, but are a tad heavier than most of the 'modern' bars out now, but that doesn't bother me one iota. I'm glad to see a design that strays from the norm, and if your tastes are similar to mine, it's the perfect bar. It also appeals to my old school side, and makes me feel like a teenager when the GT's were the shiz. My only complaint: they're chrome. Ralph, I want camo.

Hey nice review Mr. Emilydickinson.
I was wondering when I saw bob scerbo's photo in one of the newest ride us because I really thought that he was using a pair of old gt bars.
I'm 2 inches shorter than you are but I run a 7" bar, and it is NOT a 2 piece, just because I like the stiffness of it.
Good to see that you are back in bmx forum. :D

Not to blow the whistle on Scerbo, but I see him around NYC here and there and last time I saw him near Brooklyn Banks (less than 4 months ago) he was riding old GT's, not the Animals. Ahhh, the joys of marketing.

Man you wished you looked like scerbo. For one thing you dont have the brown dickies that he wears every day of his life! .. I kinda sorta have 3 pairs of brown dickies.

I was goign to have my GF buy me some of these for my birthday but the local shop had them for 80 dollars.... Does anyone wanna know why they have to mark things up rediculously high?

I'll just buy them from empire, I placing a very large order there soon anyways. My girlfriend just wanted to actualy buy me something and wrap it instead of giving me the money and having me mailorder it. It just sucks though because everything at the local shops here is waaayy over priced.

Nice review! This review makes me want to buy them over some odyssey bars. I thought the looked cool the moment I saw them. I'm ordering from albes and dans tomorrow for back to school stuff and I'll pick up these bars.

These are the best feeling, most solid bars. They are truly fantastic (plus they come in brown).

Woo!! I just placed my order for these bars in Black, Edwin Grips in Black, and a Animal Illegal Cable in White. I also ordered some clothing and road fools 11 and 12 (awesome lineups)

I got em last night with my animal illegal cable and edwin grips. These bars ride awesome, and look awesome as well. My only complaint is how the bottom whistles at high speeds like blowing on a bottle top edge, and that my primo j lever was kind of hard to install.

Those ends on the bars are actually bottle openers (seriously, try it) that's why they whistle like that.

That is the coolest thing...EVER! I need to bottle-opener my bike out. Bizhouse Bottle Opener sprocket, FBM Bottleneck stem lol.
