i got the chain maby a month or so ago. it was an impulse buy becouse my existing chain had streached way out an far from home. i havent had a problem with ithe shadow chain yet. infact the chain is so strong it has defeated me. ill get back to that. and for thoes of you who do not know it is a chain of half links.

retailing in canada for i believe $54 it is very expensive. it comes in a handy nice tin with extra links and pins. when new the chain smells and tastes like crayons (i read another review where the guy tasted it and well just had to see for myself). the chain will not work on micro gearing that means 25/9 gearing is out of the question.

the company states that the pin's and plates are heat treated thus making them 5x as strong as run of the mill pins. and increases the tensile strength by 2 fold. all i know id the thing is strong.. very resistant to streching and bending.

about a week ago i got a flat and wanted to remove my back wheel to replace my tube. well becouse of how my bike is set up and becouse the chain is so strong. i cold not get it off my chain wheel. not after all the pulling twisting and prying did it budge. so i patched the tube and decided i needed a new chain tool. appart from that im not the hardest rider in the world but i have done quite a few dirty grinds that would of bent out or busted any other chain

the people at shadow conspiracy say you should get a ct7 or stronger chain tool if you want to work on it.. anything ells will run the chance of breaking. so if you pick this chain up make shure you get the tool aswell.
all in all i think its a great chain.. maby a bit gimicky but still i am happy i got one. i would like to see the price come down.

i give this product an 7 out of 10. if it cost a reasonable amount of money it would be perfect.

But, if it lasts for even two years it would save me money. I broke two chains (410's) in two months, before even trying any grinds or stalls. One on a failed rollout and one just putting a lot of force into a start.

These probably broke due to my not knowing how to land properly, I only broke one after I became more comfortable. Then I broke my wrist and haven't rode in four months. (no grip in left hand yet)

If I break another, that's over what the Interlock costs.

honestly i wouldnt see a problem for it in regards to flatland. its a thick beefy chain. and leon as ou might know everyday i ride a little less street ad a little more flats.. and its treating me well.. i do not have a freecoaster but i cannot see how that would change the chains preformance. however it sais plainly on the time.. DOES NOT WORK WITH MICRO GEARING so if you have a cog with less than 10 teeth your outa luck
. but i wouldnt replace your current chain unless you have to.

i'm gonna get this chain. is there a 'correct' way to put it on?? like with the links facing a certain way? or doesn't it matter??

Okay this review was awesome Street I really like the good comments about it. On my new bike I will get it if my other chain breaks :)

I bought this as soon as it came out, it was nice to be able to dial in the rear end length. But it stretches so bad! Apparently the new style ones are going to prevent stretching a little better, but I haven't had any problems with the kmc 510 and its much cheaper. So ill stick to the 510

the kmc 510 is really nice and i ran that but my backend dropouts are so small and i have 28 gearing so its just a pain cuz i'd have to buy 1 half link and i broke 2 of them so far, so i had to go for a half link chain i got the interlock II = same strength as interlock just pins stay in it doesnt stretch as easy and works good on smaller drivers well if you need perfect dial in lengths GET IT its really strong i have missed a few grinds and u cant even tell where i hit the chain its nice

[quote]what bout this chain for flatland use? [quote] it prolly wouldnt create any problems, but you deff. dont need a really strong chain that can withstand grinding for flatland, i'd go with a 510 sir unless u need a half link its a lot cheaper and if ure not going to be girndng go for it
